Question 1

What is Agriventure Tembo Herbicide used for?

Accepted Answer

Agriventure Tembo Herbicide is a selective post-emergence herbicide used for effective control of both broadleaf and grassy weeds in standing maize crops. It controls important weeds including Echinochloa, Digitaria, Panicum, Cyperus, Amaranthus, Chenopodium, Portulaca, Trianthema, and other problematic weeds while providing complete safety to maize crop, ensuring weed-free field conditions for optimal maize growth and higher grain yield.

Question 2

What is Tembotrione 34.4% SC dose per litre?

Accepted Answer

The recommended Tembotrione 34.4% SC dose per litre is around 1 ml per litre of clean water for foliar spray application. Measure the required product carefully, add to sprayer tank filled with 70% clean water, mix thoroughly, top up with remaining water, and spray uniformly on weed foliage covering the entire weed leaf surface during cool morning or evening hours for maximum absorption efficiency.

Question 3

How does Agriventure Tembo Herbicide work?

Accepted Answer

Agriventure Tembo Herbicide works through systemic absorption by weed leaves and translocation throughout the weed plant. The active compound inhibits 4-HPPD (4-hydroxyphenylpyruvate dioxygenase) enzyme essential for carotenoid biosynthesis in weeds. Without carotenoids, weed leaves lose chlorophyll protection, causing rapid bleaching (whitening), followed by tissue necrosis and complete weed death within 10-14 days of application.

Question 4

What is Tembo Herbicide dose per acre?

Accepted Answer

The recommended Tembo Herbicide dose per acre is around 115 ml per acre, mixed in about 200 litres of clean water for uniform foliar spray application. Apply as post-emergence spray at 15-25 days after maize sowing when weeds are at 2-4 leaf stage and actively growing. Use flat-fan nozzle for uniform spray coverage across the entire weed canopy for complete broadleaf and grassy weed control.

Question 5

How does Tembotrione 34.4% SC control weeds?

Accepted Answer

Tembotrione 34.4% SC controls weeds through HPPD (4-hydroxyphenylpyruvate dioxygenase) inhibition mode of action from HRAC Group 27 triketone chemistry. It disrupts carotenoid biosynthesis in weed plants, causing loss of chloroplast protection from photo-oxidation, resulting in rapid bleaching of weed leaves (white/pink coloration) within 3-5 days, followed by complete weed death within 10-14 days across broadleaf and grassy weed species.

Question 6

Which crops benefit from Tembo Herbicide?

Accepted Answer

Tembo Herbicide is specifically formulated for post-emergence weed control in standing maize crop with proven crop safety. It effectively controls both broadleaf and grassy weeds in maize hybrids and varieties across all major maize-growing states of India — Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Bihar, UP, MP, Rajasthan, and Punjab. Do not use on other crops as it may cause phytotoxicity to non-target crops.

Question 7

Does Tembo Herbicide control grassy weeds?

Accepted Answer

Yes, Tembo Herbicide effectively controls important grassy weeds in maize including Echinochloa colona, Echinochloa crus-galli, Digitaria sanguinalis, Setaria glauca, Panicum sp., Dactyloctenium, and other annual grasses. The systemic post-emergence action gives complete grass weed control while maintaining excellent maize crop safety, unlike selective grass herbicides that can only handle either broadleaf or grassy weeds.

Question 8

Is Tembotrione 34.4% SC effective for broadleaf weeds?

Accepted Answer

Yes, Tembotrione 34.4% SC is highly effective against important broadleaf weeds in maize including Amaranthus viridis, Chenopodium album, Portulaca oleracea, Trianthema portulacastrum, Digera arvensis, Commelina benghalensis, Cleome viscosa, and other broadleaf weeds. The HPPD inhibition mode gives rapid bleaching symptoms followed by complete weed death, providing broad-spectrum weed control from a single herbicide application.

Question 9

When should Agriventure Tembo be applied?

Accepted Answer

The best time to apply Agriventure Tembo is as post-emergence spray at 15-25 days after maize sowing when weeds are at 2-4 leaf stage and actively growing. Maize should be at 3-8 leaf stage for maximum crop safety. Apply during cool morning or late evening hours with no rain expected for the next 4-6 hours. Avoid application during hot afternoon hours or during moisture-stressed maize crop conditions.

Question 10

Does Tembotrione 34.4% SC provide long-lasting weed control?

Accepted Answer

Yes, Tembotrione 34.4% SC provides long-lasting post-emergence weed control of approximately 30 to 45 days after single application on treated maize crop. The systemic action gives complete weed kill and provides some residual activity in soil that suppresses new weed germination for several weeks. This eliminates need for repeat weeding operations, saves labour costs, and gives clean weed-free maize field through critical crop growth period.

Question 11

Is Tembo Herbicide safe for maize crop?

Accepted Answer

Yes, Tembo Herbicide is completely safe for maize crop when applied at recommended dose (115 ml per acre) and at proper crop stage (3-8 leaf stage). The maize crop naturally metabolizes the active compound rapidly through enzymatic detoxification, giving excellent selectivity between crop and weeds. Follow label recommendations for dose, timing, and application method to ensure maize crop safety and effective weed control.

Question 12

Can Tembo Herbicide be tank-mixed?

Accepted Answer

Tembo Herbicide is generally compatible with atrazine and other maize-safe herbicides for broader weed control spectrum when tank-mixed at recommended rates. However, avoid mixing with organophosphate insecticides and adjuvants that may increase phytotoxicity risk to maize crop. Always do a small jar test before mixing with unfamiliar products, and follow all label mixing recommendations for effective tank-mix applications.

Question 13

Does Tembotrione 34.4% SC give quick weed kill symptoms?

Accepted Answer

Yes, Tembotrione 34.4% SC gives quick visible weed kill symptoms — treated weeds show characteristic bleaching (white or pink coloration) of new growth within 3-5 days of application. Complete weed death occurs within 10-14 days of application. This quick visible action helps farmers verify effective spray coverage and gives quick confidence in weed control results across broadleaf and grassy weed species.

Question 14

What safety precautions apply for Tembo Herbicide use?

Accepted Answer

Read the Tembo Herbicide label instructions carefully before use. Use hand gloves and a mask while mixing the product. Dispose of the gloves after mixing. Do not mix the formulation indoors — always mix outdoors in well-ventilated area. Do not apply the herbicide directly on top of non-target crops. Agriventure Tembo herbicide is for agricultural use only. Follow all safety guidelines strictly.

Question 15

How to store Tembo Herbicide properly?

Accepted Answer

Store Tembo Herbicide in its original sealed container in a cool, dry, well-ventilated place away from direct sunlight, extreme heat, and freezing conditions. Store separately from food, animal feed, seeds, and drinking water sources. Keep out of reach of children, pets, and unauthorized persons. Preferred storage temperature is below 30°C. Shelf life is 24 months from date of manufacture. Follow the expiry date on the pack strictly.
