The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) is a central government scheme launched in 2019 to provide income support to landholding farmer families in India. Under this scheme, the government provides ₹6,000 per year to farmers to help them purchase agricultural inputs while reducing their dependence on informal loans and credit sources.
Key Highlights of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana 2026
What is the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana?
PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana (PM-KISAN) is a Central Government scheme launched to provide financial support to eligible farmer families across India. Under this scheme, farmers receive ₹6,000 every year directly into their bank accounts through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
The amount is paid in three equal installments of ₹2,000 each during the financial year. The scheme was launched on 24 February 2019 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi from Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh.
The objective of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana is to provide income support to all landholding farmer families across India, supplementing their financial needs for purchasing inputs related to agriculture and allied activities, as well as meeting essential household expenses.
PM Kisan 23rd Installment Date — When Will It Come?
Based on the 4-month installment cycle and past trends, the PM Kisan 23rd installment is expected between June and July 2026. Once announced, beneficiaries who have completed e-KYC will receive ₹2,000 through DTB to a bank account linked to their Aadhaar.
To get the 23rd installment without delay, make sure:
- Your eKYC is complete
- Your Aadhaar is linked to your bank (NPCI seeded)
- Your land records are updated on the portal
- Your Farmer ID is created (in 14 mandatory states)
Important: Aadhaar-bank linking is NOT the same as NPCI seeding. PM Kisan money only goes to the account mapped in the NPCI mapper. Visit your bank branch and fill the "DBT / NPCI Aadhaar Seeding form" to fix this.
