Bayer Roundup is a non-selective and systemic herbicide that works by inhibiting the EPSP synthase enzyme, which is essential for the production of aromatic amino acids in plants, eliminating the weed. Bayer Roundup is applied as a post-emergent, which also provides farmers with very high versatility to use as it is used after the weeds have grown. This herbicide can also be used for all non-cropped areas, including roadsides, bunds, orchards, industrial sites, and irrigation channels.

Bayer Roundup is a non-selective herbicide — it controls all actively growing green vegetation. Key target weed categories include:

Apply Bayer Roundup Herbicide as a directed foliar spray to actively growing weeds; never allow spray to contact green crop tissue. Always add a non-ionic surfactant or use the self-emulsifying SL formulation for best leaf absorption.

Measure the required dose of Bayer Roundup as per the application target and weed type in the dose table above.
Add the measured quantity to the sprayer tank already half-filled with clean water. Mix well before topping up.
Fill the tank with the remaining water and agitate to ensure a uniform solution before spraying.
Use a flat fan nozzle for directed applications — avoid fine mist settings that increase drift risk.
Direct the spray onto the green leaf and stem surfaces of target weeds only — never allow Roundup Herbicide spray to contact desirable crop plants, as it is non-selective and will kill them.
Apply during calm, dry weather — do not spray if rain is expected within 6 hours, as rainfall washes the herbicide off before adequate absorption.
Do not spray during extreme heat above 35°C — apply during early morning or late evening for best weed absorption and to reduce evaporation of the spray solution.
Rinse all sprayer equipment thoroughly with clean water after use — glyphosate residues in the sprayer can damage the next crop sprayed.
Apply Bayer Roundup Herbicide in the early morning or late evening when weeds are actively growing, and temperatures are moderate. Apply when weeds are young and actively growing for the fastest and most complete kill — large, mature, or stressed weeds absorb Glyphosate more slowly and may require higher doses.
Frequency of Application: One well-timed application is generally sufficient for annual weeds. For persistent perennial weeds, a second application 4–6 weeks after the first may be needed once regrowth appears. Do not apply more than necessary — allow adequate time for translocation before assessing control.
Re-Entry Period: Do not enter treated areas until the spray has fully dried — a minimum of 4 hours after application. For areas where grazing animals are present, wait at least 24 hours before re-entry.
Tank-Mix Compatibility: Bayer Roundup Herbicide can be mixed with compatible herbicides where label permits. Do not mix with fertilizer solutions or hard water without testing first — calcium and magnesium in hard water can reduce Glyphosate efficacy. Always perform a jar test before mixing.
Important Note: Bayer Roundup Herbicide is a non-selective herbicide — it will kill any green plant it contacts, including crop plants. Always use directed spraying with shields when applying near standing crops. Never spray in windy conditions that cause drift onto crop foliage.
Wear gloves, goggles, and a face mask before handling or spraying Bayer Roundup Herbicide.
Do not eat, drink, or smoke during mixing or application.
Avoid direct skin and eye contact — rinse immediately with large amounts of clean water for at least 15 minutes if contact occurs.
Do not allow spray drift to contact neighbouring crops, gardens, or water bodies. Glyphosate is non-selective and will damage all green vegetation it contacts.
Keep children, pets, and livestock away from treated areas until spray has dried fully.
Wash all exposed skin thoroughly with soap and water after every application.
Triple rinse empty containers, puncture, and dispose of per local chemical waste guidelines.
Store Bayer Roundup in its original sealed container in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat.
Keep away from food, animal feed, seeds, and water sources.
Store out of reach of children and farm animals.
Do not store in metal containers — Glyphosate SL formulations can corrode certain metals.
