Tata Sonic Flo is a broad-spectrum insecticide that handles sucking pests and borers in the same round. Sonic Flo insecticide carries fipronil, a molecule that disrupts the GABA-gated chloride channel in the insect nervous system, leading to paralysis and death of the pest. Tata Sonic Flo moves in three ways — contact, stomach and systemic — so the spray reaches pests sitting on the surface as well as larvae feeding inside the stem. Tata Sonic Flo insecticide is also known for its long residual hold. It is registered for paddy, cotton, chilli, cabbage and sugarcane, making it highly versatile.
Triple Action: Tata Sonic Flo insecticide offers contact, stomach, and systemic actions together to ensure strong pest protection.
Quick Action: Pests give up feeding soon after a Tata Sonic Flo insecticide spray, providing quick pest relief leading to healthier crops.
Long Lasting: One round of Tata Sonic Flo insecticide keeps working for a long stretch, which brings down the number of sprays in a season.
Low Dose: Tata Sonic Flo insecticide is effective at low rates across various crops, covering both chewing and sucking pest groups.
Easy Mixing: The SC formulation of Tata Sonic Flo insecticide mixes smoothly and sprays evenly.
Tata Sonic Flo insecticide is registered against the following:
Paddy Pests: Stem borer, brown planthopper, white-backed planthopper, green leafhopper, leaf folder, gall midge and whorl maggot.
Cabbage: Diamondback moth, the main caterpillar of cole crops.
Chilli: Thrips, aphids and fruit borer.
Sugarcane: Early shoot borer and root borer.
Cotton: Aphids, jassids, thrips, whitefly and bollworm.
The standard Tata Sonic Flo insecticide rate is 2 ml per litre of water, which comes to about 30 ml in a 15-litre pump and roughly 400 ml per acre at 180 to 200 litres of spray water.
Crop | Target Pest | Dose per Acre | Dose per Litre | When To Spray |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Paddy | Stem borer, BPH, WBPH, leaf folder, gall midge | 400 ml | 2 ml | 25–30 days after transplanting |
Cabbage | Diamondback moth | 350–400 ml | 2 ml | 30–35 days after transplanting |
Chilli | Thrips, aphids, fruit borer | 350–400 ml | 2 ml | 40–50 days after transplanting |
Cotton | Aphids, jassids, thrips, whitefly, bollworm | 400 ml | 2 ml | At first pest build-up |
Sugarcane | Early shoot borer, root borer | 400–500 ml | 2 ml | Early growth, as soil drench or spray |
Shake the Tata Sonic Flo bottle well before opening, as a suspension settles during storage.
Measure the dose for the tank size from the table above.
Stir the measured Sonic Flo insecticide into a mug of clean water to make a smooth pre-mix.
Add the pre-mix to a part-filled spray tank and top up with the balance water.
Keep the tank agitated so strength stays even from start to finish.
Use a high-volume nozzle on a knapsack, foot pump or power sprayer.
For brown planthopper in paddy, direct the nozzle low, at the base of the clumps.
In cabbage, keep 7 to 10 days between Sonic Flo insecticide rounds and hold to two or three sprays.
Rinse the sprayer with clean water once the job is finished.
Spray Tata Sonic Flo insecticide at the first sign of pest incidence or at economic threshold. For paddy stem borer, the egg-hatching stage is the window that matters, since young larvae are far easier to kill than grown ones. Early morning or late evening suits best, and full bloom should be avoided so that honeybees are not harmed.
Frequency: Two to three rounds of Tata Sonic Flo insecticide in a season, spaced 7 to 10 days apart in cabbage and 10 to 15 days in other crops.
Re-Entry: Keep workers and livestock out of the treated block for 24 hours, and re-enter with full protective gear.
Tank-Mix: Tata Sonic Flo insecticide is compatible with several common products, but a jar test should be run before any new combination, and alkaline partners should be avoided.
Rotation: Follow Tata Sonic Flo with an unrelated IRAC group so pests do not settle into this chemistry.
Go through the Tata Sonic Flo insecticide label and leaflet properly before the container is opened.
Wear gloves, goggles, a mask and full-sleeved clothing while mixing and spraying.
Do not spray on windy days, as drift wastes product and raises exposure.
Nothing goes in the mouth during the spray job — no food, no water, no tobacco.
Toxic to honeybees, so avoid spraying when bees are working the flowers.
Toxic to fish, so keep Sonic Flo insecticide away from ponds, canals and fish farms.
Wash hands, face and exposed skin thoroughly, and change into clean clothes afterwards.
In case of swallowing, inhalation or eye contact, get medical help at once and carry the label along.
Triple-rinse empty containers, puncture them, and discard as per local waste rules.
Keep the Tata Sonic Flo bottle sealed and upright in a cool, dry, well-ventilated place.
Store away from sunlight, heat, food grain, seed, feed, fertiliser and water sources.
Keep it locked away from children, pets and cattle at all times.
Never shift Tata Sonic Flo insecticide into a food or drink container.
