Sumitomo Dipel is a biological insecticide that contains Bacillus thuringiensis and works by damaging the gut lining of the pests, so they stop feeding and die. This insecticide is completely natural, making it safe for organic farming, and is easy to use due to its liquid formula. This insecticide can be mixed with other commonly used agro inputs for improved results.
Natural Formula: Sumitomo Dipel insecticide is made using Bacillus Thuringiensis, which is a naturally occurring bacterium.
Resistance Management: Dipel insecticide cannot develop any cross-resistance with any other insecticide class.
Liquid Formulation: The liquid formulation of the Sumitomo Dipel insecticide can be used easily and covers the entire crop evenly.
Double Effectiveness: Dipel insecticide can be used with other insecticides, which doubles the effectiveness of insecticides.
Safe to Use: Sumitomo Dipel is completely safe for the environment and has no adverse effects on bees, butterflies, or beneficial predators.
Dipel Insecticide Uses target Lepidopteran caterpillar pests across a wide range of crops:
Caterpillar Pests: Armyworms, Loopers, Hornworms, Cabbage Loopers, Tomato Hornworms, Corn Earworms, Heliothis, Diamondback Moth (DBM), Sod Webworm, Cabbage Cluster Caterpillar, Fruit-Tree Tortrix
Registered Crops: Bananas, Pineapples, Oil Palm, Sugarcane, Vegetables, Fruits, Nuts, Vines, Cotton, and Corn
Other Recommended Crops: Cabbage, Cauliflower, Tomato, Okra, Grapes, Pomegranate, Mango, Paddy, Maize, Red Gram, Bengal Gram, Soybean
The Dipel Insecticide Dosage is 1 ml per litre of water — applied at the time of initial appearance of pests, adjusted slightly by crop type for best results.
Crop | Dose Per Litre | Notes |
|---|---|---|
Cabbage / Ornamentals | 1–2 ml | At first sign of larval activity |
Tomato | 2–3 ml | At first sign of larval activity |
Corn / Maize | 2–4 ml | At first sign of larval activity |
General Field Crops | 1 ml | Standard dose — at time of initial pest appearance |
Read the instructions carefully before using Dipel insecticide.
Measure the required dose of Sumitomo Dipel as per the crop in the dose table above — 1 ml per litre is the standard general dose.
Mix the recommended dosage thoroughly with clean water in the sprayer tank.
Spray the mixture evenly across the entire crop canopy — complete coverage is most important to ensure effectiveness since larvae must ingest treated leaf tissue for the BT toxin to work.
Apply at the time of initial appearance of pests — early-stage larvae are most susceptible to Dipel insecticide.
Spray during morning or evening hours for better bioactivity — BT toxins degrade faster under intense UV light at midday.
Reapply every 7–10 days if pest infestation continues — repeated coverage ensures newly hatched larvae are also controlled.
Wear gloves, masks, and goggles to avoid direct skin contact, even though Sumitomo Dipel is a biological product.
Apply Dipel insecticide during morning or evening hours for the strongest bioactivity. Spray at the time of initial pest appearance — applying when larvae are in their early instar stages gives the most complete and reliable control from Bacillus thuringiensis.
Frequency of Application: Apply at the first sign of pest infestation. Repeat Dipel insecticide application every 7–10 days if pest pressure continues — biological products generally require more frequent reapplication than synthetic chemical insecticides for sustained control.
Re-Entry Period: Sumitomo Dipel has an exceptionally short re-entry interval (REI) of approximately 4 hours — far shorter than most chemical insecticides, owing to its biological mode of action and low mammalian toxicity.
Tank-Mix Compatibility: Dipel insecticide is tank-mixable with most insecticides, fungicides, and foliar nutrients. Always perform a jar test before mixing with unfamiliar products.
Wear gloves, masks, and goggles to avoid direct skin contact while handling Sumitomo Dipel.
Read the instructions carefully before using the product.
Do not eat, drink, or smoke during mixing or application.
Store Dipel insecticide away from children and animals at all times.
