UPL Dost Super is a selective and pre-emergent herbicide containing Pendimethalin 38.7% CS that is effective against annual grassy weeds and broadleaf weeds. It works by disrupting normal cell division and elongation processes, preventing the growth of roots and shoots of the weeds. The Dost Super herbicide is highly effective against a wide range of weeds and offers prolonged protection. This herbicide is also safe to use as it has highly selective properties.
Key Features and Benefits of Dost Super Herbicide:
Broad-Spectrum: The Dost Super herbicide is effective against annual grasses and broadleaf weeds, making it highly versatile.
Uniform Coverage: The Capsule Suspension (CS) formulation of Pendimethalin 38.7% CS ensures complete and uniform coverage.
Long Residual Action: This Pendimethalin 38.7% CS formula offers extended residual activity, reducing the need for frequent application.
Safe to Use: UPL Dost Super herbicide has selective properties that ensure crop safety while targeting weeds.
Pendimethalin 38.7% CS Uses — Target Weeds and Crops:
Pendimethalin 38.7% CS Uses cover annual grasses and broadleaf weeds across all four registered crops:
Annual Grassy Weeds: Echinochloa colonum (Jungle Rice), Digitaria sanguinalis (Crabgrass), Dactyloctenium aegyptium (Crowfoot Grass), Brachiaria mutica (Para Grass), Dinebra arabica, Eragrostis minor
Broadleaf Weeds: Amaranthus viridis (Slender Amaranth), Chenopodium album (Bathua), Euphorbia hirta (Asthma Weed), Portulaca oleracea (Purslane), Trianthema portulacastrum (Horse Purslane)
Registered Crops: Soybean, Cotton, Chilli, Onion
UPL Dost Super Dose — Recommended Dose:
The Pendimethalin 38.7% CS Dose Per Litre for spray application is 3–3.5 ml per litre of water — equivalent to 600–700 ml per acre in 200 litres of water, consistent across all registered crops.
Crop | Target Weeds | Dose Per Acre | Per 15L Pump | Timing |
Soybean | Annual Grasses and Broadleaf Weeds | 600–700 ml | 45–52 ml | Pre-emergence — apply after sowing, before crop emergence |
Cotton | Annual Grasses and Broadleaf Weeds | 600–700 ml | 45–52 ml | Pre-emergence — apply 0–3 days after sowing |
Chilli | Annual Grasses and Broadleaf Weeds | 600–700 ml | 45–52 ml | Pre-emergence — apply after transplanting before weed emergence |
Onion | Annual Grasses and Broadleaf Weeds | 600–700 ml | 45–52 ml | Pre-emergence — apply after transplanting before weed emergence |
How To Use UPL Dost Super Herbicide:
Measure 600–700 ml of Dost Super herbicide per acre as per the dose table above.
Add the measured quantity to a sprayer tank half-filled with clean water and mix well before topping up — the CS formulation mixes readily without any special pre-mixing step.
Fill with the remaining clean water and agitate to form a uniform spray solution before application.
Apply as a uniform broadcast spray over the entire field surface — use a flat fan nozzle for even coverage of the soil surface.
Apply Pendimethalin 38.7% CS immediately after sowing for direct-seeded crops or after transplanting for transplanted crops — always apply before weeds emerge from the soil surface.
Adequate soil moisture is essential at the time of application — apply UPL Dost Super after the first post-sowing irrigation or immediately before expected rainfall for best herbicide incorporation into the topsoil.
Do not disturb the soil surface after spraying Dost Super herbicide — tillage or cultivation after application breaks the chemical barrier and reduces efficacy.
Do not spray during windy conditions that could cause uneven coverage or drift.
Best Time to Apply:
Apply UPL Dost Super in the early morning or late evening on a calm day. The most critical application window is 0–3 days after sowing or transplanting — before any weed seeds have germinated and before any weed seedlings have broken the soil surface.
Frequency of Application and Re-Entry Period:
Frequency of Application: One pre-emergent application per season is generally sufficient for season-long early-weed control. If late-emerging weeds appear after the residual period, a follow-up post-emergent herbicide from a different HRAC group may be applied.
Re-Entry Period: Do not enter treated fields for at least 12 hours after application. Avoid walking through the sprayed area before the spray has dried to prevent disturbing the soil surface herbicide barrier.
Tank-Mix Compatibility: UPL Dost Super herbicide is compatible with most herbicides. Always perform a jar test before mixing Pendimethalin 38.7% CS with unfamiliar products. Avoid mixing with strongly alkaline inputs.
Important Notes:
Do not apply Dost Super herbicide after weed emergence — Pendimethalin 38.7% CS has no post-emergent activity on established weeds.
Do not disturb the topsoil after application — mechanical disturbance breaks the chemical barrier.
Ensure adequate soil moisture at the time of application for best herbicide activation and soil distribution.
Safety Precautions and Handling:
Wear protective gear — gloves, goggles, and a face mask — to avoid contact with skin and eyes while using Dost Super herbicide.
Avoid eating, drinking, and smoking while applying the spray.
Keep UPL Dost Super away from children and pets at all times.
Wash hands and all exposed skin thoroughly with soap and water after every application session.
Triple rinse empty containers, puncture, and dispose of per local waste guidelines.
