Tata Preet Plus is a broad-spectrum selective pre-emergence herbicide that targets grassy weeds, sedges, and broadleaf weeds. Tata Preet Plus herbicide inhibits the cell division process in the weeds and stops further growth. It eliminates weeds within a few hours of application and ensures a healthier yield. Tata Preet Plus herbicide has a strong residual action that allows the formula to last for a longer period.
Broad-Spectrum Weed Control: Tata Preet Plus Herbicide controls a wide mix of grasses, sedges, and broadleaf weeds in transplanted paddy.
Pre-Emergence Action: Tata Preet Plus herbicide can be used as a pre-emergence herbicide, stopping seedling growth and preventing weed growth.
Long Lasting: This herbicide lasts for a longer period and reduces reapplication rates of the product.
Safe For Crops: Tata Preet is a selective herbicide that does not attack crops like paddy and only attacks harmful weeds.
Tata Preet Plus Herbicide is effective against the main weed complex of transplanted paddy:
Grasses: Echinochloa colona, Echinochloa crus-galli (barnyard grass), Digitaria sanguinalis
Sedges: Cyperus difformis, Cyperus iria, Fimbristylis miliacea
Broadleaves: Ammannia baccifera, Monochoria vaginalis, Sphenoclea zeylanica, Ludwigia parviflora
Recommended For: Transplanted Paddy (Rice)
Apply Tata Preet Plus Herbicide as a pre-emergence spray at the recommended dose. Timing is critical for good weed control and crop safety.
Crop | Application Timing | Dose / Acre | Per Litre | Per 15L Pump |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Transplanted Paddy | 3–5 days after transplanting | 500–600 ml | 2.5–3 ml | 37–45 ml |
Water Volume: Use 150 to 200 litres of water per acre for uniform soil coverage, or mix with 20 to 25 kg of sand and broadcast in standing water (2 to 5 cm depth). Foliar / Sand-Broadcast Rate: 500 to 600 ml per acre.
Ensure the paddy field has a standing water level of 2 to 5 cm at the time of application.
Wear gloves and a face mask before opening the Preet Plus bottle.
Measure the required quantity using a marked cup or syringe.
Method 1 (Spray): Half-fill the spray tank with clean water, add the measured product slowly, and top up with the remaining water while stirring. Use a flat-fan nozzle for uniform spraying.
Method 2 (Sand Broadcast): Mix 500 to 600 ml of Preet Plus with 20 to 25 kg of dry sand until evenly coated, then broadcast the treated sand uniformly over the paddy field with standing water.
Maintain the standing water level for at least 3 to 5 days after application for best weed control.
Do not disturb the water or drain the field for the first 3 to 5 days after application.
The best time to use Tata Preet Plus Herbicide is 3 to 5 days after transplanting the paddy — when the paddy seedlings have settled, but weed seeds have not yet germinated. This is the ideal window for pre-emergence action. Apply during calm weather in the early morning or late evening for best results. Ensure the field has a shallow standing water layer of 2 to 5 cm at the time of application, which activates the herbicide film across the soil surface. Do not apply on very dry fields — moisture is essential for pre-emergence herbicides.
Frequency: Only 1 pre-emergence spray per paddy cycle — do not repeat the same herbicide in the same season.
Re-Entry Period: Wait at least 24 hours after spraying before re-entering the treated field without protective clothing.
Compatibility: Preet Plus is best used alone as a stand-alone pre-emergence herbicide. Avoid tank-mixing with insecticides or fungicides, as most weed sprays work best without other actives interfering. For any planned tank-mix, always run a jar test first.
Wear hand gloves, face mask, and protective eyewear while handling the product.
Do not eat, drink, or smoke during mixing or spraying.
Spray downwind and keep children, pets, and livestock away from treated fields.
Wash hands and exposed body parts with soap and water after use.
Use a separate sprayer for herbicides — never use the same sprayer that was used for insecticides or fungicides on the crop, as residues can damage the plants.
In case of accidental ingestion, contact a doctor immediately with the product label.
Store in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated place away from direct sunlight.
Keep away from food, animal feed, and drinking water sources.
Store in the original container with the cap tightly closed.
Keep out of reach of children, pets, and livestock.
