Question 1

What is Tata Kevat Ultra herbicide used for?

Accepted Answer

tata kevat ultra herbicide and kevat ultra uses include one-shot post-emergence control of both broadleaf and grassy weeds in cotton. kevat ultra herbicide is widely used to manage major problem weeds like Trianthema, Amaranthus, Digera, Euphorbia, Echinochloa, Dinebra, and Digitaria in a single spray.

Question 2

What is the Kevat Ultra herbicide dose per litre of water?

Accepted Answer

The recommended kevat ultra herbicide dose per litre is approximately 1.5 to 2 ml of product per litre of water for foliar spray. For knapsack sprayers, this works out to about 22 to 30 ml per 15-litre pump, mixed well in clean water before spraying.

Question 3

What is the Kevat Ultra herbicide dose per acre?

Accepted Answer

The standard kevat ultra herbicide dose per acre is around 300 to 400 ml mixed in 150 to 200 litres of water for foliar application. Use the higher rate under heavy weed pressure and follow the crop-specific recommendation printed on the label.

Question 4

How to use Tata Kevat Ultra herbicide in cotton?

Accepted Answer

Measure the required dose of tata kevat ultra herbicide and add it to a spray tank half-filled with clean water, mixing well to form a stable emulsion. Top up with water, stir again, and spray uniformly using a flat-fan or flood-jet nozzle on actively growing weeds.

Question 5

Which crop is Kevat Ultra registered for?

Accepted Answer

kevat ultra herbicide is specifically formulated and registered for use in cotton. It is positioned as a one-shot post-emergence solution for both broadleaf and grassy weeds in cotton, helping reduce weeding labour and early-season weed competition.

Question 6

Which weeds does Kevat Ultra herbicide control?

Accepted Answer

kevat ultra effectively controls a broad spectrum of cotton weeds. Pyrithiobac Sodium targets broadleaf weeds like Trianthema portulacastrum, Amaranthus species, Digera arvensis, and Euphorbia, while Quizalofop Ethyl controls grasses like Echinochloa, Dinebra retroflexa, and Digitaria marginata.

Question 7

How does Kevat Ultra herbicide work on weeds?

Accepted Answer

tata kevat ultra herbicide combines two modes of action. Pyrithiobac Sodium is an ALS inhibitor that blocks essential amino acid synthesis in broadleaf weeds, while Quizalofop Ethyl is an ACCase inhibitor that disrupts fatty acid synthesis and cell division in grassy weeds.

Question 8

Is Kevat Ultra a contact or systemic herbicide?

Accepted Answer

kevat ultra herbicide is a systemic post-emergence herbicide. After being absorbed through weed leaves, both active ingredients move within the plant, reach growing points, and provide complete control of broadleaf and grassy weeds in cotton in a single application.

Question 9

When is the best time to spray Kevat Ultra in cotton?

Accepted Answer

The best time to spray tata kevat ultra herbicide is as an early post-emergence application, generally 2 to 8 days after sowing or when major weeds are at the 2 to 3 leaf stage. Apply on moist soil during cool morning or evening hours for best results.

Question 10

How quickly does Kevat Ultra show results?

Accepted Answer

kevat ultra herbicide is absorbed rapidly through weed foliage and starts showing visible symptoms of stunting and discolouration within a few days of spraying. Complete desiccation and weed death are normally seen within 10 to 14 days, depending on weed type and weather.

Question 11

Is Kevat Ultra rainfast after application?

Accepted Answer

Yes, the MEC formulation of kevat ultra herbicide is generally rainfast within about 2 to 3 hours of application. This means rainfall after this period does not significantly reduce efficacy, supporting reliable performance even during unsettled weather in cotton growing areas.

Question 12

Is Kevat Ultra safe for the cotton crop?

Accepted Answer

Yes, kevat ultra herbicide is designed as a selective post-emergence product and is considered safe for cotton when used at the recommended dose and stage. Avoid spraying during severe crop stress, very young seedlings, or unfavourable weather to minimize risk of any phytotoxicity.

Question 13

Does Kevat Ultra help in herbicide resistance management?

Accepted Answer

Yes, tata kevat ultra herbicide combines two distinct modes of action: ALS inhibition and ACCase inhibition. This dual-target approach attacks both broadleaf and grassy weeds at different enzyme sites, helping slow down the build-up of herbicide-resistant weed biotypes in cotton fields.

Question 14

What safety precautions should be followed while using Kevat Ultra?

Accepted Answer

Wear gloves, mask, goggles, and full protective clothing while handling tata kevat ultra herbicide. Avoid eating, drinking, or smoking during application, wash hands and exposed skin thoroughly after spraying, store the product safely away from children, pets, food, and water sources, and do not apply near water bodies.
