Sumitomo Lano is a powerful insecticide containing Pyriproxyfen 10% SC, which is effective against various pests, especially whiteflies. It offers a dual mode of action with systemic and contact action, as it works by disrupting the endocrine system of target pests, preventing them from molting and reproducing. The Sumitomo Lano insecticide offers long-lasting protection that helps control the pest population, effectively reducing the chances of re-infestations.
Effective Protection: Sumitomo Lano works on eggs, nymphs, and adult females simultaneously, controlling the pest lifecycle entirely.
Safe to Use: This Pyriproxyfen 10% SC formula has no adverse effects on predatory insects, ensuring a healthier ecosystem.
Prolonged Activity: Lano insecticide provides extended residual pest suppression after application for long-lasting protection.
Easy to Use: Pyriproxyfen 10% SC can easily be mixed with water and applied through foliar application for simple application.
Adjuvant Support: Sumitomo Lano provides better results with adjuvants as it helps Pyriproxyfen 10% SC spread more evenly.
Lano insecticide uses cover whitefly and other sucking pests across all registered crops:
Primary Target: Whitefly (Bemisia tabaci) — all life stages (eggs, nymphs, adults)
Other Sucking Pests: Aphids, Jassids, Thrips
Registered Crops: Brinjal, Chilli, Okra, Cotton
The Lano Insecticide Dose is 1–2.6 ml per litre of water — varying by crop, with Cotton requiring a higher dose than vegetable crops.
Crop | Target Pest | Dose Per Acre | Per 15L Pump | Per Litre | PHI |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Cotton | Whitefly | 400 ml | 40 ml | 2.6 ml | As per label |
Brinjal | Whitefly, Aphids | 200 ml | 20 ml | 1–1.3 ml | As per label |
Chilli | Whitefly, Jassids | 200 ml | 20 ml | 1–1.3 ml | As per label |
Okra | Whitefly, Sucking Pests | 200 ml | 20 ml | 1–1.3 ml | As per label |
Read the label carefully before preparing the spray solution.
Measure the required dose of Lano insecticide as per the crop in the dose table above.
Mix the measured quantity in the required volume of water and stir well before filling the sprayer tank.
For better leaf coverage, add a compatible sticker adjuvant to the spray solution — this improves how well the product sticks to the leaf surface.
Apply as a foliar spray using a knapsack or power sprayer — make sure the spray covers all plant surfaces, including the underside of leaves where whitefly nymphs feed most actively.
Apply when whitefly populations first reach the Economic Threshold Level — early application disrupts the pest lifecycle before numbers build up to damaging levels.
Do not exceed the recommended dose for the crop — exceeding the limit can harm the plant.
Spray during early morning or late evening to avoid the hottest part of the day and reduce spray evaporation.
Apply Sumitomo Lano in the early morning or late evening on a calm, dry day. The most effective window is when adult whitefly populations are first noticed on the lower leaf surfaces — early intervention with Lano insecticide stops eggs from hatching and nymphs from developing before populations become too large to control economically.
Frequency of Application: Apply when whitefly populations reach the Economic Threshold Level. Lano insecticide provides long residual activity — repeat only when pest pressure builds again after the residual period. Do not exceed 2–3 applications per season — rotate with insecticides from different IRAC groups after every 2 applications.
Re-Entry Period: There is no specific antidote known for Pyriproxyfen 10% SC overexposure — apply symptomatic therapy. Do not enter sprayed fields for at least 12–24 hours without protective gear.
Tank-Mix Compatibility: Sumitomo Lano is compatible with sticker adjuvants. Always perform a jar test before combining with any other insecticide or fungicide. Follow label guidance for all tank-mix decisions.
Wear goggles, mask, and gloves to avoid skin and eye contact during mixing and spraying.
Do not eat, drink, or smoke while applying Lano insecticide.
Store Sumitomo Lano away from children, animals, water sources, and food items.
Do not exceed the recommended dosage limit — overuse can harm the crop.
No specific antidote is known for Pyriproxyfen 10% SC — apply symptomatic therapy and seek medical attention immediately in case of accidental ingestion or exposure.
