The HEDO mini solar light trap is a compact, eco-friendly device that helps farmers manage flying pests without using chemicals. This solar insect light trap charges by day using a built-in panel, then switches on automatically at dusk to run its UV LED bulb for 4 hours, drawing insects into the water tray below. As a fully solar powered insect trap, the unit works without external electricity, external batteries, or wiring. The mini solar trap controls whitefly, jassids, aphids, thrips, tuta absoluta, fruit borers, fall armyworm, helicoverpa, and pink bollworm across fruits, vegetables, and flowers, and is safe around children and farm animals.
Fully Solar-Powered: The HEDO mini solar light trap charges by day and runs for 4 hours per night on stored sunlight, saving farmers on electricity bills.
6-Watt UV LED Bulb: The solar insect light trap uses a 6W UV LED available in yellow, blue, and purple to match different crop pests.
Auto On/Off: The mini solar trap detects sunset and switches on by itself, then powers off after 4 hours of pest trapping.
3-Litre Water Tray: The wide tray below the solar powered insect trap holds up to 3 litres of oil-mixed water for catching drowned insects.
Compact and Portable: At just 13.5 × 13 × 13.5 cm, the mini solar trap is easy to carry between fields, kitchen gardens, and terrace plots.
Eco-Friendly Pest Control: The solar powered insect trap supports IPM and organic farming, lowering reliance on broad-spectrum sprays.
Safe for Honeybees: The solar insect light trap is active only at night, so daytime pollinators like honeybees and butterflies are not harmed.

Unpack the HEDO mini solar light trap and arrange the parts: solar panel, control box, UV LED, water tray, mounting stake, and wires.
Fix the water tray onto the stake using the supplied bracket, then push the stake into firm soil just above the crop canopy.
Mount the control box and UV LED of the solar insect light trap directly above the water tray, with the panel facing the open sky.
Angle the panel of the solar powered insect trap towards the south or south-east for maximum sun exposure during the day.
Fill the water tray with 2 to 3 litres of clean water and add 4 to 5 drops of edible oil to break surface tension.
Switch on the mini solar trap using the power button; the UV LED stays off in daylight and turns on after sunset.
Charge the mini solar light trap in full sunlight for one full day before the first night of trapping.
Empty, rinse, and refill the water tray of the mini solar trap every 2 to 3 days to keep it working at full power.
Place the HEDO mini solar light trap high enough that children, pets, and farm animals cannot reach the open water tray.
Avoid looking directly into the UV LED of the solar insect light trap at close range, since UV exposure can cause eye discomfort.
Wipe the solar panel of the solar powered insect trap clean every 7 to 10 days with a soft, dry cloth to maintain charging.
Do not use kerosene, diesel, or strong solvents in the water tray of the mini solar trap; plain water with edible oil is enough.
Avoid placing the mini solar trap right next to honeybee colonies or pollinator-friendly flowering plots.
Bring the solar powered insect trap indoors during severe storms or hailstorms to protect the panel and plastic body.
The UV LED on the mini solar light trap attracts flying insects after dark. Pests fly close to the bright bulb, fall into the water tray, and the thin oil layer drowns them before they can escape back out.
Different wavelengths attract different families of insects. Yellow generally pulls in sap-sucking pests, blue tends to attract thrips and moths, and purple draws night-flying borers. The solar insect light trap colour should match the main pest in your crop.
The built-in battery on the solar powered insect trap stores enough charge for short cloudy spells, so the unit keeps working for a day or two. After 4 to 5 days of continuous heavy cloud cover, nightly runtime may drop below 4 hours.
The water tray of the mini solar trap should be emptied, rinsed, and refilled every 2 to 3 days. Cleaning the mini solar trap regularly removes dead insects, prevents stale-water smell, and stops mosquito larvae from breeding inside.
With proper care, the HEDO mini solar light trap gives 3 to 4 years of regular farm service. The built-in battery on the solar powered insect trap usually needs replacement after 2 years, since cell capacity drops over time.
The solar insect light trap reduces dependence on chemical sprays but cannot fully replace them under heavy pest pressure. It works best as part of an IPM program alongside pheromone traps, sticky traps, and need-based bio-pesticide use.
