Pick fruits that are past the early growth stage but still 3 to 4 weeks away from harvest, for best fruit bag coverage.
Check each fruit for pest bites, cracks, or fungal spots before bagging, and remove any damaged fruit first.
Open the fruit cover fully by loosening the drawstring at the mouth of the bag.
Slip the fruit protection cover over the fruit gently, taking care not to bend or snap the stem.
Pull the drawstring tight around the fruit stalk, close to the branch, so no gap is left for insects to enter.
Tie the drawstring in a firm double knot, but do not squeeze it hard enough to cut off the stem's water supply.
Repeat with all target fruits on the tree, working from lower branches to upper branches for easy reach.
Remove the fruit bag 2 to 3 days before harvest to let the fruit take on its final colour under natural sunlight.
Store unused fruit bags in a clean, dry place inside their original pack, away from rats and termites.
After each season, remove used fruit covers from the tree, shake off dust, and check for tears before storing.
Wash lightly soiled fruit cover bags with plain water (no detergent) and dry fully in shade before folding.
