Superior variety from pure line breeding program ensure high productivity plants.
The pods are fleshy with good cooking quality
The flesh turns soft and delicious with less fibre
The pods are less seeded and delicious.
The pods are 120 to 125 cm long, with a girth of 8 cm to 8.5 cm and individual fruit weight of 280 g with 70% flesh.
It is adapted to most soil types varying from sandy loam to clay loam with good drainage.
The average number of pods per tree is 220/tree/year
It yields 98 tonnes/ha. Ratoon crop can also be taken up for three years.

Fruit Colour: The tree bears yellowish creamy white flowers that are bisexual with sweet fragrance.
Temperature: luxuriant plant growth is 25°c-35°c
Fruit Length: long pods of about 125-130 cm with a girth of 8.5 cm
Seed Count: Approx 3-4 per Gm
Yield: This basically depends on seed type/variety cultivated. The yield could be around 50 – 55 tones of pods per hectare (Average 220 pods per tree per year). (Depending on season and cultural practice)
Depth of sowing: Planting depth of 2.5-3cm, the seeds can also be shown in the polybag containing pot mixture and transplanted after 35-40 days of sowing.
Days To First Harvest: 170-180 Days After Sowing
Other: High Yielding Variety
Category: Vegetable Seeds
Seed Rate: 1-1.5 Kg per Acre (As per Indian Agriculture practices)
Seed Count: Approx. 14 to16 Seeds per Gram
Spacing: The tree every 3 m rows 3 m apart (As per Our R&D Data)
Land Preparation: Deep ploughing of the land is required for drumstick farming. About 20 tones of farmyard manure is incorporated per hectare at the time of the last ploughing of the land. For perennial cultivars, pit size of about 45×45×45 cm is dug at every 6×6 meter spacing while for annual cultivars, pits are dug at 2.5×2.5 meter spacing. For farming of drumstick leaves, 1.0×1.0 meter spacing can be maintained. Each pit is filled with a well-mixed mixture of soil, 10-15 kg FYM or compost along with 100 gm of nitrogen, 200 gm of phosphorus and 50 gm of potassium before the onset of monsoon.
Tips for growing Drumstick:
