Bayer Premise insecticide is a powerful systemic insecticide that works by acting on the central nervous system of target insects. This insecticide is especially effective against termites in pre and post-construction settings. Premise insecticide offers a strong formula that lasts for a long time, making it a cost-effective option for termite control.
Key Features and Benefits of Bayer Premise Insecticide:
Effective Working: Bayer Premise insecticide spreads from pest to pest due to its domino effect, providing quick relief for healthier yields.
Odourless Formula: Premise insecticide has an odourless formula, oral nervous system making it comfortable to use in closed spaces.
Long-Lasting: Bayer Premise lasts for a longer period, reducing the need for reapplication and making it cost-effective.
Premise Insecticide Uses — What Does It Control?
Bayer Premise is used exclusively for termite control across all construction types:
Pre-Construction: Soil treatment around and below foundations, pillars, and flooring before concrete is laid
Post-Construction: Soil injection around the periphery of the building, drilling through floors and walls for injection, and treatment of garden and landscape areas around built structures
Target Species: All subterranean termite species including Odontotermes spp., Coptotermes spp., and Microtermes spp. — the primary structural termite threats in India
Bayer Premise Dose Per Litre — Recommended Application Rate:
All applications must be carried out by a trained pest control operator in compliance with IS 6313 (Part II for pre-construction and Part III for post-construction) BIS standards.
Application Type | Dilution Rate | Application Method | Notes |
Pre-Construction Soil Treatment | 2.1 ml per litre of water | Soil drenching — applied to foundation trenches, pits, and columns | Apply before concrete is laid per IS 6313 Part II |
Post-Construction Soil Treatment | 2.1 ml per litre of water | Soil injection through drill holes around the building periphery | Apply per IS 6313 Part III |
Wood and Furniture Treatment | 2.1 ml per litre of water | Surface spray or injection into infested wood | For spot treatment of active termite infestation |
How To Use Bayer Premise Insecticide:
Measure 2.1 ml of Bayer Premise per litre of clean water as per the IS 6313 standard application rate.
Mix thoroughly in the required volume of water for the treatment area — prepare only the quantity needed for each application session.
For pre-construction treatment, apply the diluted solution as a uniform soil drench into foundation trenches, column pits, plinth fill, and sub-floor areas before concrete is laid.
For post-construction treatment, drill holes of 12 mm diameter at 300 mm intervals around the building perimeter to a depth of 300 mm and inject the required volume of solution per hole.
For internal floor treatment in post-construction, drill through the flooring at affected areas and inject the solution to treat the soil beneath.
Ensure the treated area is sealed properly after injection to prevent surface exposure.
All work must follow IS 6313 Part II (pre-construction) and Part III (post-construction) BIS specifications — always engage a licensed pest control operator for building applications.
Wear full chemical-protective gear including gloves, goggles, and a face mask throughout the application process.
Best Time to Apply:
For pre-construction treatment, apply immediately after excavation and before laying the foundation — treating soil while it is loose and easily penetrable gives the most uniform barrier coverage. For post-construction treatment, apply during the dry season when soil moisture is low, and absorption of the solution into the soil is most efficient.
Frequency of Application and Re-Entry Period:
Frequency of Application: One properly conducted treatment per construction cycle for pre-construction application. For post-construction renewal, re-treatment is recommended every 8–10 years or as advised by the pest control operator. Bayer Premise carries a 10-year structural warranty.
Re-Entry Period: Do not allow occupants, children, or pets to enter treated areas until the solution has been fully absorbed into the soil and the area is dry, a minimum of 24–48 hours after application.
Tank-Mix Compatibility: Premise insecticide is used as a standalone soil treatment product; do not mix with other chemicals without specific guidance from a licensed pest control professional.
Safety Precautions and Handling:
Wear chemical-grade gloves, goggles, a face mask, and full-body protective clothing before handling or applying Bayer Premise insecticide.
Do not eat, drink, or smoke during mixing or application — Imidacloprid 30.5% SC is poisonous and must be handled with strict precaution.
Avoid direct contact with skin and eyes — rinse immediately with large amounts of clean water for at least 15 minutes if contact occurs and seek medical attention.
Do not apply on surfaces that come into regular direct contact with humans, food, or pets.
Keep children, pets, and unprotected individuals completely away from treatment areas until the solution has been absorbed and the area is fully dry.
If symptoms of poisoning occur, contact a physician immediately.
Triple rinse empty containers, puncture, and dispose of per local chemical waste disposal guidelines.
