Adama Widigo is a highly effective herbicide that targets broadleaf and grassy weeds on cotton crops. It moves through all parts of the weeds and stops the production of amino acids, which are required for their growth. This herbicide eliminates weeds immediately and lasts for a longer period through systemic action. Adama Widigo herbicide is a post-emergent herbicide that ensures flexible application and kills weeds after they have emerged from the soil.
Key Features and Benefits of Adama Widigo Herbicide:
Broad-spectrum Control: Adama Widigo herbicide controls weeds such as Digera, Amaranthus, Trianthema, Portulaca, and Commelina.
Residual Action: Adama Widigo herbicide has a residual activity that lasts for a longer period with a single application.
Post-emergence Application: This herbicide can be used after the weeds have grown, ensuring effective weed control.
Visible Results: Adama Widigo herbicide provides cleaner and healthier yields within a few hours of application.
Adama Widigo Uses:
Adama Widigo Herbicide is effective against a wide mix of broadleaf and some grassy weeds in cotton:
Broadleaf Weeds Controlled: Digera arvensis, Amaranthus viridis, Trianthema portulacastrum, Portulaca oleracea, Commelina benghalensis, Euphorbia hirta, Boerhavia diffusa, Parthenium hysterophorus
Sedges Controlled: Cyperus rotundus (nutgrass), Cyperus iria
Grassy Weeds Partially Controlled: Echinochloa colona, Digitaria sanguinalis
Recommended For: Cotton (both BT and non-BT varieties)
Widigo Herbicide Dose:
Apply Adama Widigo Herbicide as a post-emergence spray at the recommended dose. Timing is critical for good weed control and crop safety.
Crop | Application Timing | Dose / Acre | Per Litre | Per 15L Pump |
Cotton | 20–30 DAS (weeds 2–4 leaf stage) | 250–375 ml | 1.25–1.9 ml | 18–28 ml |
Water Volume: Use 150 to 200 litres of water per acre for uniform coverage. Pump dose: Use 18 to 28 ml per 15-litre knapsack pump for general application.
How to Use Adama Widigo Herbicide:
Check the cotton field to see the weed size — the 2- to 4-leaf stage is the right time to spray.
Wear gloves and a face mask before opening the Widigo bottle.
Shake the bottle well and measure the required quantity using a marked cup or syringe.
Half-fill the spray tank with clean water and pour in the measured product slowly.
Add the remaining water and stir until the solution looks uniform.
Use a flat-fan nozzle for herbicide application — never a hollow-cone insecticide nozzle.
Spray evenly over the cotton field, without going over the same area twice.
Do not spray on windy days to avoid the spray drifting onto nearby broadleaf crops.
Best Time to Apply:
The best time to use Adama Widigo Herbicide is at the early post-emergence stage — when cotton is 20 to 30 days after sowing, and weeds are at the 2- to 4-leaf stage and actively growing. Spraying at this stage gives the strongest kill because weeds are small and tender, while cotton has grown enough to tolerate the herbicide. Apply during clear, calm weather. Avoid spraying if rain is expected within 4 to 6 hours.
Frequency of Application and Re-entry Period:
Frequency: Only 1 post-emergence spray per cotton cycle — do not repeat the same herbicide in the same season.
Re-Entry Period: Wait at least 24 hours after spraying before re-entering the treated field without protective clothing.
Compatibility: Adama Widigo herbicide is best used alone as a stand-alone post-emergence spray. Avoid tank-mixing with insecticides or fungicides, as most weed sprays work best without other actives interfering. For any planned tank-mix, always run a jar test first.
Safety, Precautions and Handling:
Wear hand gloves, face mask, and protective eyewear while handling the product.
Do not eat, drink, or smoke during mixing or spraying.
Spray downwind and keep children, pets, and livestock away from treated fields.
Wash hands and exposed body parts with soap and water after use.
Use a separate sprayer for herbicides — never use the same sprayer that was used for insecticides or fungicides, as residues can damage other crops.
In case of accidental ingestion, contact a doctor immediately with the product label.
