Adama Sigalit is a selective insecticide that offers a systemic mode of action against sucking pests like Brown Plant Hoppers (BPH) in paddy crops. It works by targeting the insect’s sensory nerves, paralyzing the pest’s hind legs and mouthparts, stopping feeding, and leading to their death. The Sigalit insecticide is highly effective as it works as a resistance breaker due to its unique formula. This insecticide also remains effective even in rainy weather conditions and provides long-lasting protection.
Key Features and Benefits of Sigalit Insecticide:
Resistance Breaker: Adama Sigalit has a unique mode of action that is effective against pests that have already developed resistance.
Quick Action: The Sigalit insecticide causes a pest to stop feeding almost immediately after ingestion, providing healthier yields.
Complete Protection: This insecticide is absorbed by roots and leaves and provides systemic and translaminar action for complete coverage.
Prolonged Effects: The Adama Sigalit insecticide offers continuous protection, providing long-lasting effects for the best results.
Safe to Use: Sigalit insecticide targets only sucking pests while having no adverse effects on beneficial organisms.
Sigalit Insecticide Uses — Target Pest and Crop:
Sigalit Insecticide Uses are focused on the single most yield-damaging sucking pest in Indian Paddy cultivation:
Adama Sigalit Dose — Recommended Dose:
The Sigalit Insecticide Dose Per Litre is 0.6 gm per litre of water — equivalent to 9 gm per 15L pump and 120 gm per acre in 200 litres of water.
Crop | Target Pest | Dose Per Acre | Per 15L Pump | Per Litre | PHI |
Paddy / Rice | Brown Plant Hopper (BPH) | 120 gm | 9 gm | 0.6 gm | As per the label |
How To Use Adama Sigalit Insecticide:
Measure 120 gm of Sigalit insecticide per acre as per the dose table above — equivalent to 9 gm per 15L pump.
Pre-dissolve the WDG granules in a small amount of clean water and stir until fully dissolved before adding to the sprayer tank.
Fill the tank with the remaining clean water — 200 litres per acre — and mix well before spraying.
Direct the spray toward the base of the Paddy plant and the lower stem zone — the area where BPH nymphs and adults concentrate near the waterline for feeding.
Apply when BPH populations first appear in the field or at the Economic Threshold Level — early application prevents Hopper Burn development and protects productive tiller count.
Spray during early morning or late evening when BPH are most active, and the wind is calm for even coverage.
Do not reduce the spray volume below 200 litres per acre — adequate spray volume ensures the solution reaches the stem base, where Sigalit insecticide must contact the plant tissue for systemic absorption.
Wash your hands properly after using the product.
Best Time to Apply:
Apply Adama Sigalit in the early morning or late evening. For BPH management in Paddy, apply at the active tillering and panicle initiation stages when hopper populations first reach the economic threshold — these are the two most BPH-susceptible growth stages in the Paddy crop cycle.
Frequency of Application and Re-Entry Period:
Frequency of Application: Apply at the first sign of BPH infestation or at the Economic Threshold Level (EIL). Adama Sigalit provides long-lasting, continuous protection — repeat if pest populations rebound after the residual period. Do not exceed 2–3 applications per season — always rotate Sigalit insecticide with products from different IRAC groups after 2 consecutive applications.
Re-Entry Period: Do not enter treated fields for at least 12 hours after spraying. Allow the spray to settle fully before walking through the treated paddy field.
Tank-Mix Compatibility: Adama Sigalit is compatible with most insecticides and fungicides. Always perform a jar test before mixing with unfamiliar products. Avoid mixing with strongly alkaline inputs.
Safety Precautions and Handling:
Wear gloves, a mask, and goggles to avoid contact with skin and eyes while handling Adama Sigalit.
Do not consume anything while applying Sigalit insecticide.
Wash hands properly after using the product.
Keep Adama Sigalit away from children and pets at all times.
