Pretreatment: 

• Soak the seeds in cool water for 48 hours; or cover the seeds with boiling water, allow them to cool, and soak for 24 hours.  

Nursery technique: 

• The pretreated fruits are put in polythene bags with half of the fruit above the soil. 

• The germination commences in 8 to 12 days and takes about 50 days to complete.  

• The use of pregerminated seeds is preferred to save time and ensure uniform germination.
