Dr. Bacto's BioSulf is a liquid biofertilizer by Anand Agro Care Nashik, formulated with vegetative cells of Thiobacillus spp. at a minimum CFU count of 2 × 10⸠per ml. The Thiobacillus bacteria in BioSulf produce organic acids — including sulphuric acid and malic acid — that break down insoluble sulphur and iron (ferrous) locked in the soil, converting them into plant-available forms. This process simultaneously lowers soil pH in alkaline soils, making other nutrients like Phosphorus and Zinc more accessible to plant roots. BioSulf is permitted as an organic input by NOCA under India's National Programme for Organic Production (NPOP), non-toxic, biodegradable, and safe for use across all crop types and farming systems.
Sulphur and Iron Solubilisation: Thiobacillus spp. in BioSulf produce organic acids that convert insoluble soil sulphur and ferrous into forms the plant can directly absorb and use for growth.
Balances Soil pH: The acidifying action of Thiobacillus bacteria helps lower the pH of alkaline soils, creating better conditions for nutrient uptake across the entire root zone.
Improves Flowering and Fruiting: Regular use of BioSulf increases the number of flowers, improves fruit set, and supports better grain formation and size across all crop types.
Faster Root Development: Thiobacillus spp. activity in the root zone encourages quicker root elongation, improving the crop's ability to access water and nutrients from deeper soil layers.
Increases Photosynthesis and Respiration Rate: Sulphur supplied through BioSulf is a key component of chlorophyll and plant enzymes — improving the rate of photosynthesis and overall plant metabolism.
Stress Tolerance: BioSulf builds the crop's resistance to both biotic and abiotic stress, reducing the impact of drought, heat, and soil-borne disease pressure on yield.
Maintains Long-Term Soil Fertility: Consistent application improves biological activity in the soil, maintaining fertility and reducing dependence on sulphur and iron chemical fertilizers over time.
NPOP Certified — Organic Approved: BioSulf is permitted under NPOP organic standards, making it fully suitable for certified organic farms with no chemical residues post-application.
BioSulf is effective across all crop categories:
Vegetable Crops: Tomato, Chilli, Okra, Brinjal, Cabbage, Cauliflower, Onion, Garlic
Fruit Crops: Mango, Banana, Grapes, Pomegranate, Guava, Papaya, Citrus
Cereal Crops: Paddy, Wheat, Maize, Bajra, Sorghum
Pulses & Oilseeds: Groundnut, Soybean, Mustard, Chickpea, Sunflower
Cash & Plantation Crops: Sugarcane, Cotton, Coffee, Tea, Coconut
Application Method | Dose | Timing |
|---|---|---|
Soil Drench / Drip Irrigation | 1–2 litres per acre | At transplanting and during active vegetative growth |
Seed Treatment | 10 ml per kg of seeds | Before sowing — soak seeds for 30 minutes |
Foliar Spray | 1.5–2 ml per litre of water | During vegetative and flowering stage |
Measure the required dose of BioSulf as per the application method and crop stage in the table above.
For soil drench or drip irrigation, mix 1–2 litres of BioSulf per acre in sufficient water and apply uniformly to the root zone.
For drip irrigation, introduce the solution through the drip system during the last 20–30 minutes of an irrigation cycle for even root zone coverage.
For seed treatment, mix 10 ml of BioSulf per kg of seeds with a small amount of jaggery solution, coat seeds uniformly, and dry in shade before sowing.
For foliar spray, dissolve 1.5–2 ml per litre of water and spray evenly on both leaf surfaces during early morning or late evening.
Always ensure adequate soil moisture at the time of soil application — BioSulf bacteria need moisture to establish and remain active in the root zone.
Do not mix with chemical fungicides, bactericides, or chemical fertilizers — this will reduce bacterial viability.
Shake the bottle well before measuring and applying.
Best Time to Apply
Apply BioSulf at transplanting, during early vegetative growth, and at flowering for the strongest soil colonisation and nutrient solubilisation response. Early morning or late evening foliar application gives the best bacterial survival on leaf surfaces.
Frequency of Application: Apply at transplanting and repeat every 30–45 days during the crop cycle. Two to three applications per season are recommended for sustained sulphur and iron solubilisation.
Re-Entry Period: BioSulf is fully non-toxic and organic. No strict re-entry restriction applies. Allow drenched soil to settle before re-entering the field.
Tank-Mix Compatibility: Compatible with biofertilizers, organic manures, and other biological inputs. Do not mix with chemical pesticides, fungicides, or strong chemical fertilizers. Perform a compatibility check before mixing with unfamiliar inputs.
Wear gloves and a face mask when measuring and handling BioSulf.
Do not mix with chemical pesticides or fungicides — this destroys the live bacteria and renders the product ineffective.
Keep away from direct sunlight and heat during storage and handling.
Keep out of reach of children and farm animals at all times.
Wash hands thoroughly with soap and water after use.
Dispose of empty containers as per local agricultural waste guidelines.
Store BioSulf in its original sealed container in a cool, dry, shaded place away from direct sunlight.
Do not store near chemical pesticides, fertilizers, or heat sources.
Keep away from food, animal feed, and seeds.
Storage Temperature: Below 30°C.
Shelf Life: 12 months from the date of manufacture.
