Katyayani Iron fertilizer is a high-grade micronutrient fertilizer that helps farmers fix iron deficiency and restore healthy green leaves in crops. It contains Ferrous Sulphate 19% that works by giving plants the iron they need for chlorophyll formation, photosynthesis, and enzyme activity. Iron Fertilizer quickly corrects yellowing between leaf veins (chlorosis), boosts root growth, and supports better nitrogen fixation and protein formation. The sulphur in Ferrous Sulphate fertilizer also helps balance alkaline soil pH and improves nutrient uptake.
Corrects Iron Chlorosis: Ferrous Sulphate fertilizer reverses the yellowing of young leaves caused by iron deficiency, bringing back deep green colour.
Boosts Chlorophyll: The Iron Fertilizer supports faster chlorophyll formation, leading to greener leaves and better photosynthesis.
Strong Root Growth: Ferrous Sulphate fertilizer improves root development and overall plant vigour, especially in poor or alkaline soils.
Balances Soil pH: The Iron Fertilizer lowers pH in alkaline soils, improving overall soil quality and nutrient availability over time.
Supports Enzymes and Proteins: Ferrous Sulphate fertilizer activates many plant enzymes and helps with protein and chlorophyll formation.
Adds Sulphur Bonus: The Iron Fertilizer also supplies 10.5% sulphur, helping protein formation, oil content, and natural pest defence.
Easy to Mix: Ferrous Sulphate fertilizer comes as fine, soluble crystals that dissolve quickly in water with no clogging.
Iron Fertilizer is recommended for the following crop groups:
Cereals (Paddy, Wheat, Maize, Sorghum): Corrects leaf yellowing, improves chlorophyll, and boosts grain filling and yield.
Vegetables (Tomato, Cabbage, Spinach, Beans, Onion): Reverses chlorosis, improves leaf colour, and gives better produce size and weight.
Fruits (Citrus, Apple, Peach, Grapes, Strawberry, Raspberry): Improves leaf greenness, fruit colour, sugar content, and overall tree health.
Pulses and Oilseeds (Soybean, Groundnut, Chickpea): Supports nodulation, oil content, and reduces iron-deficiency symptoms.
Commercial Crops (Cotton, Sugarcane, Tea): Boosts cane, fibre quality, and improves overall stress tolerance.
Ornamental and Garden Plants (Rose, Azalea, Marigold, Lawns): Restores green colour, healthy growth, and bloom count in iron-starved plants.
Mix the Iron Fertilizer in clean water and apply it through a suitable method. Stir well so the crystals dissolve fully:
Application Method | Dose | When to Apply |
|---|---|---|
Foliar Spray | 2.5 to 3 g per litre of water (500 g per acre) | At the first sign of iron chlorosis, repeat every 10 to 15 days |
Soil Application | 10 to 20 kg per acre | At the land preparation or basal stage |
Soil Drench | 5 to 10 g per litre of water | Near the root zone in pots or fruit trees |
Garden / Home Use | 1 to 2 g per litre of water | Every 15 to 20 days on iron-deficient plants |
Note: Use only the recommended dose, as overuse can cause foliar burn or plant toxicity.
Take the recommended quantity of Iron Fertilizer based on the application method and crop area.
Pre-dissolve the crystals in a small bucket of clean water and stir until fully dissolved.
For foliar spray, add this solution to the spray tank and top up with clean water.
Spray uniformly on both the upper and lower sides of leaves using a fine nozzle.
For soil application, broadcast the powder around the root zone before light irrigation.
For soil drench, pour the diluted solution near the root zone of fruit trees or potted plants.
Avoid mixing with strongly alkaline products, as the reaction can deactivate the iron.
Reseal the pack tightly after use to keep the crystals dry and prevent caking.
Apply Ferrous Sulphate fertilizer at the first sign of leaf yellowing or interveinal chlorosis. Spray in the cool hours of early morning or late evening, when leaf uptake is best. Avoid the hot afternoon, as it can cause foliar burn.
Frequency of Application: Apply Iron Fertilizer every 10 to 15 days through foliar spray until the leaves recover their green colour. Soil application can be done once or twice per season at land preparation or the basal stage.
Re-Entry Period: There is no waiting period. Field work can resume once the spray dries on the leaves or the soil dose is watered in.
Compatibility: Ferrous Sulphate fertilizer mixes with most fertilizers and pesticides. Avoid mixing with phosphate-based fertilizers (which lock up iron) and strong alkaline products like Bordeaux mixture.
Do not over-apply Ferrous Sulphate fertilizer, as too much iron can stain leaves brown and cause foliar toxicity, especially on tender new growth.
The crystals can leave rust-coloured stains on cement floors, clothes, and tank walls, so handle them on plastic sheets and rinse spills with water right away.
Do not mix Ferrous Sulphate fertilizer with phosphate fertilizers like DAP in the same tank, as the iron and phosphate react and form an insoluble compound that plants cannot use.
Use plastic or stainless steel sprayers; avoid copper or galvanized steel tanks, since the iron solution reacts with these metals.
Keep the product away from chlorine-based bleach and strong oxidizers, as a chemical reaction can release harmful fumes.
Wear safety gear, including gloves, goggles, and a face mask, while measuring and pouring; avoid eating, drinking, or smoking during application.
Store away from food and animal feed, as accidental swallowing can cause stomach upset.
Store Iron Fertilizer in its original sealed pack in a cool, dry, well-ventilated place away from sunlight and moisture.
Keep the product separate from acids, food, animal feed, seeds, and drinking water sources.
Always keep Ferrous Sulphate fertilizer out of reach of children, pets, and farm animals.
Storage Temperature: Between 10°C and 30°C in dry conditions.
Shelf Life: 2 years from the date of manufacture when stored sealed and dry.

Q1. How do I know if my crop has an iron deficiency that needs Ferrous Sulphate fertilizer?
The main sign of iron deficiency is interveinal chlorosis — yellow leaves with green veins, mostly on young leaves. A spray of Ferrous Sulphate fertilizer at 2.5 g per litre of water clears this up within 10 to 15 days.
Foliar spray of Iron Fertilizer gives faster results because the leaves absorb iron directly. Soil application is useful for long-term iron supply, but in high-pH soils, much of the soil iron gets locked up, so foliar is more reliable.
Ferrous Sulphate fertilizer mixes with most fertilizers and pesticides, but never mix it with phosphate fertilizers like DAP or strongly alkaline sprays. Phosphate locks up the iron, and alkaline products turn it into an insoluble form.
Iron Fertilizer is a non-chelated, low-cost Ferrous Sulphate that works well in slightly acidic to neutral soils. Chelated iron (Fe-EDTA) costs more but stays available even in alkaline soils, so it's better for problem soils with a pH above 7.5.
Yes, Ferrous Sulphate fertilizer works well on lawns, roses, azaleas, and other ornamental plants showing yellow leaves. Use 1 to 2 g per litre of water as a foliar spray, or sprinkle 10 to 20 g per square metre on the lawn and water in.
