The Fruit Fly Attractant Methyl Eugenol Liquid is a strong male lure used to trap oriental fruit flies (Bactrocera dorsalis) in mango, guava, sapota, papaya, citrus, and pomegranate orchards. Made from pure methyl eugenol liquid, it attracts male flies into traps from long distances. A few milliliters of oil on a cotton wick inside a simple trap can knock down the fly population for weeks. A methyl eugenol trap reduces fruit drop, gummy oozing, and maggot damage without spraying the whole crop.
Strong Long-Range Pull: This Methyl Eugenol fruit fly trap attracts male fruit flies from 30-50 meters in open orchard conditions.
Targets Fruit Fly: The Methyl Eugenol fruit fly trap works specifically on Bactrocera dorsalis, the main fly pest of mango, guava, sapota, papaya, and citrus crops.
Long Field Life: A single 5-10 ml charge of the Methyl Eugenol Liquid stays active for 30-40 days under normal Indian field weather.
Safe for Pollinators: The methyl eugenol trap does not attract honey bees, butterflies, or ladybugs, keeping pollination undisturbed.

Set up a simple bottle trap, Methyl Eugenol fruit fly trap, or ready-made IPM fruit fly trap with a lure holder inside.
Pour 5-10 ml of the Methyl Eugenol liquid onto a clean cotton ball or wooden lure block.
For lure-and-kill action, add 2-3 drops of an approved insecticide like dichlorvos onto the cotton along with the Methyl Eugenol Liquid.
Hang the cotton or Methyl Eugenol liquid block inside the trap.
Tie the trap on a tree branch at a height of 4-5 feet in the semi-shade, where fruit fly activity is high.
Install 6-10 traps per acre, spread evenly across the orchard.
Start setting traps from the fruit-setting stage and keep them running till the last harvest.
Check methyl eugenol traps once a week and recharge the liquid every 30-40 days, or sooner if rain or strong sun dries out the wick.
Wear gloves and avoid skin contact while pouring the Methyl Eugenol Liquid onto wicks.
Keep the bottle tightly capped and stored away from direct sunlight.
Hang traps at least 4-5 feet high, out of reach of children, cattle, and pets.
Do not pour the liquid directly on fruits, leaves, or soil.
Store the bottle away from food grains, drinking water, and cattle feed.
Dispose of used cotton wicks, dead trapped flies, and empty bottles safely.
