Orcon is an organic specialty spray adjuvant and viricide-bactericide developed by Cropex, made from clove surfactant (Clove Oil/Eugenol), potassium soap, and sodium salts. When sprayed on crops, Orcon works by disrupting the cell wall and membrane of bacterial pathogens while simultaneously improving the spread and absorption of any viricide or bactericide it is mixed with — giving your spray far better coverage across leaves. The active compound in clove surfactant, eugenol, is well-documented to break down the outer membrane of harmful bacteria and slow the spread of viral infections on plant tissue.
Dual Action: Orcon controls both viral and bacterial diseases in a single application, protecting crops from two types of damage at once without the need for separate chemical sprays.
Clove Surfactant Base: The active clove surfactant in Orcon penetrates the outer coating of bacterial cells and disrupts their structure, preventing them from multiplying and spreading across the crop.
Spray Coverage Booster: Orcon improves how well sprays spread and stick to the leaf surface — making every spray session more effective and reducing the amount of product wasted.
Builds Plant Resistance: Regular use of this adjuvant helps strengthen the plant's natural ability to fight off new infections, reducing the chance of repeat disease outbreaks in the same season.
Broad Usage: This adjuvant is effective on Chilli, Tomato, Papaya, Okra, Potato, Paddy, Cucurbits, Cotton, and many other crops commonly grown across India.
Easy to Mix and Apply: Orcon dissolves readily in water and can be used on its own or combined with other compatible viricides and bactericides for stronger disease control.
Mosaic Viruses: Cucumber Mosaic Virus, Yellow Vein Mosaic, Papaya Mosaic Virus
Curl Viruses: Leaf Curl Virus (Chilli, Tomato)
Bacterial Blights: Bacterial Blight (Paddy), Bacterial Leaf Spot
Leaf Diseases: Leaf Spot, Leaf Blight (Potato, Tomato)
Canker Diseases: Cankers (Tomato)
Mix Orcon at 1 to 2 ml per litre of water for foliar spray, or use 400–500 ml per acre depending on crop and disease pressure. Apply at the first sign of infection or preventively during high-risk periods. This adjuvant can also be mixed with compatible viricide or bactericide sprays at 4–5 ml per litre to boost their coverage and performance.
Crop | Target Disease | Dose Per Litre | Per 15L Pump | Application Method |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Chilli | Leaf Curl Virus | 1–2 ml | 15–30 ml | Foliar Spray |
Tomato | Leaf Spot, Canker | 1–2 ml | 15–30 ml | Foliar Spray |
Okra | Yellow Vein Mosaic | 1–2 ml | 15–30 ml | Foliar Spray |
Papaya | Papaya Mosaic Virus | 1–2 ml | 15–30 ml | Foliar Spray |
Potato | Leaf Blight | 1–2 ml | 15–30 ml | Foliar Spray |
Paddy | Bacterial Blight | 1–2 ml | 15–30 ml | Foliar Spray |
Cucurbits | Cucumber Mosaic Virus | 1–2 ml | 15–30 ml | Foliar Spray |
Cotton | Bacterial Leaf Spot | 1–2 ml | 15–30 ml | Foliar Spray |
Measure the required dose of Orcon as per the table above — do not exceed 2 ml per litre for standalone use.
Take a small amount of clean water in a separate container and add the measured adjuvant to it first.
Stir well to form a smooth, even mixture before pouring it into the sprayer tank.
Fill the tank with the remaining quantity of clean water and stir again.
Spray evenly on the upper and lower surfaces of leaves using a fine mist nozzle for thorough coverage.
For best results, spray during early morning or late evening when temperatures are cooler.
When mixing Orcon with another viricide or bactericide, use 4–5 ml of adjuvant per litre of the spray solution.
Rinse the sprayer tank and nozzle thoroughly with clean water after every spray session.
Best Time to Apply
Spray Orcon in the early morning or late evening. Apply preventively before disease symptoms appear, especially during humid or wet weather when viral and bacterial infections spread fastest.
Frequency of Application: Apply this adjuvant at the first sign of disease or as a preventive spray during high-risk periods. Repeat every 10–15 days as needed. Do not exceed 3 to 4 applications per season.
Re-Entry Period: Since it is an organic, non-chemical product, there is no strict re-entry restriction. However, it is advisable to wait until the spray has fully dried on the plant surface before re-entering the field.
Tank-Mix Compatibility: This adjuvant mixes well with most organic viricides, bactericides, and bio-pesticides. Avoid mixing with strongly alkaline products. Always do a small jar test before tank mixing.
Wear gloves, a face mask, and goggles before handling or spraying Orcon.
Do not eat, drink, or touch your face during mixing or application.
Avoid direct contact with skin and eyes — wash immediately with soap and water if contact occurs.
Do not use kitchen utensils or food containers to measure or mix Orcon.
Keep children, pets, and livestock away from treated areas until the spray has dried.
Dispose of empty containers safely as per local guidelines — do not reuse for storing food or water.
Store Orcon in its original sealed container in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
Keep away from food, animal feed, and seeds at all times.
Store out of reach of children and farm animals.
