Sponge gourd is also known as Egyptian cucumber and is native to South and Southeast Asia. A highly nutrient-dense vegetable, it is also predominantly used in Indian cooking. The best weather to grow a sponge gourd is inward and humid, and it is a fast-growing plant, so you don’t have to wait too long to reap the fruits of your labor.

The seeds are easy to grow and require less effort. You can place them in an outdoor garden area and provide good-quality fertilizer. Gradually, you will notice that the seed started to germinate within 10 to 14 days, and it will take approximately 2 to 3 months to harvest the sponge gourd from the crop.
