Katyayani Imida is a systemic insecticide by Katyayani Organics, containing Imidacloprid 30.5% SC, which is a highly effective neonicotinoid formulation for controlling sucking pests across a wide range of crops. Imida insecticide is rapidly absorbed by the plant through its roots and leaves, and moves systemically through the entire plant tissue, reaching pests hiding on the underside of leaves, inside shoots, and at the root zone. It works by binding to nicotinic acetylcholine receptors in the insect's nervous system, blocking nerve signals and causing paralysis and death within 24–48 hours. The SC (Suspension Concentrate) formulation improves spreading and absorption on leaf surfaces, reduces runoff, and ensures uniform coverage with each spray.
Key Features & Benefits of Katyayani Imida Insecticide
Triple-Action Control: Katyayani Imida insecticide works through systemic, contact, and stomach action, reaching pests whether they feed on the surface, inside the tissue, or at the root zone.
Fast Knockdown, Long Residual: Pest mortality begins within 24–48 hours, and protection remains active for 10–14 days, reducing the number of spray cycles needed per season.
Systemic Translocation: Once absorbed, Imida insecticide moves upward through the entire plant, protecting new growth, shoots, and upper canopy that sprays may not reach directly.
SC Formulation Advantage: The Suspension Concentrate formulation enhances wetting, spreading, and penetration on leaf surfaces, ensuring even coverage with reduced surface runoff.
Broad Pest Spectrum: Effective against Aphids, Jassids, Thrips, Whiteflies, Brown Plant Hopper (BPH), White-Backed Plant Hopper (WBPH), Green Leafhopper (GLH), and Termites.
Virus Vector Control: By eliminating sucking pests like Aphids and Whiteflies, which transmit viral diseases. Katyayani Imida insecticide also indirectly reduces the spread of plant viruses across the crop.
Wide Crop Compatibility: Suitable for Cotton, Paddy, Chilli, Tomato, Sugarcane, Mango, Grapes, Groundnut, Okra, and many other crops commonly grown across India.
Cost-Effective: Highly concentrated formulation means lower dose per acre, making Katyayani Imida insecticide an economical choice for large-scale farming.
Katyayani Imida Insecticide Uses — What Does It Control?
This insecticide covers both agricultural and structural pest management:
Sucking Pests: Aphids, Jassids, Thrips, Whiteflies
Hoppers: Brown Plant Hopper (BPH), White-Backed Plant Hopper (WBPH), Green Leafhopper (GLH)
Fruit & Plantation Pests: Leaf Hoppers (Mango), Flea Beetle (Grapes)
Termites: Pre- and post-construction termite control in buildings
Katyayani Imida Insecticide Dose — Crop-Wise Recommended Dose
Mix Katyayani Imida in 200 litres of water per acre for foliar spray. Apply at the first sign of pest infestation for best results.
The dose for this insecticide varies by crop and target pest, as shown below:
Crop | Target Pest | Dose / Acre | Per 15L Pump | PHI |
Cotton | Aphids, Jassids, Thrips, Whitefly | 50–75 ml | 4–6 ml | 21 days |
Paddy | BPH, WBPH, GLH | 50–75 ml | 4–6 ml | 21 days |
Chilli | Aphids, Thrips, Jassids | 50–60 ml | 4–5 ml | 7 days |
Tomato | Whitefly, Aphids | 25–30 ml | 2–3 ml | 7 days |
Mango | Leaf Hopper, Hoppers | 25–30 ml | 2–3 ml | 21 days |
Grapes | Flea Beetle, Thrips | 25–30 ml | 2–3 ml | 21 days |
Sugarcane | Termites (Soil Drench) | 50–75 ml | — | 21 days |
Okra | Jassids, Aphids, Thrips | 25–30 ml | 2–3 ml | 7 days |
Groundnut | Aphids, Jassids | 25–30 ml | 2–3 ml | 21 days |
Termite Control (Buildings) | Termites | 2.5 ml per litre of water as a soil drench | — | N/A |
How To Use Katyayani Imida Insecticide
Measure the required dose of Katyayani Imida as per the crop-wise dose table above.
Pre-mix the measured quantity in a small amount of clean water and stir to form a uniform suspension.
Pour into the sprayer tank and fill with the remaining quantity of clean water. Mix well.
Spray evenly on upper and lower leaf surfaces for thorough pest coverage.
Apply during cool hours, like early morning or late evening, for best absorption and to avoid phytotoxicity risk in hot conditions.
Do not spray during strong winds or when rainfall is expected within 4 hours of application.
For termite control in buildings, dilute 2.5 ml per litre of water and apply as a soil drench.
Rinse the sprayer tank and equipment thoroughly with clean water after use.
Best Time to Apply
Spray Katyayani Imida insecticide in the early morning or late evening. Apply at the very first sign of sucking pest infestation — early intervention gives the best pest knockdown and prevents population build-up.
Frequency of Application & Re-Entry Period
Frequency of Application: Apply at the first sign of pest infestation. Repeat after 10–14 days if pest pressure continues. Do not apply more than 2–3 times per season to manage resistance.
Re-Entry Period: Do not enter treated fields for at least 24 hours after spraying without proper protective gear.
Tank-Mix Compatibility: This insecticide is compatible with most insecticides and fungicides. Avoid mixing with strongly alkaline products. Always perform a jar test before tank mixing with unfamiliar products.
Note: Do not exceed the recommended dose. Rotate with insecticides from a different IRAC group after 2–3 applications to prevent resistance build-up in pest populations.
Safety Precautions & Handling
Wear gloves, goggles, and a face mask before handling or spraying Katyayani Imida insecticide.
Do not eat, drink, or smoke during mixing or spraying.
Avoid inhaling spray mist and keep the spray away from your eyes and skin.
Highly toxic to bees — do not spray during active bee foraging hours or near flowering crops.
Keep children, pets, and livestock away from treated fields for at least 24 hours.
Wash all exposed skin thoroughly with soap and water after use.
Triple rinse empty containers, puncture, and dispose of as per local waste guidelines.
