Descriptions

Cubic Magnum (magnesium sulphate 9.5%) is a highly soluble and rich source of magnesium and sulphur. It is an excellent source of available magnesium which is often referred to as the “powerhouse behind photosynthesis”. Hidden in the heart of each chlorophyll is an atom of magnesium (mg), making the nutrient actively involved in photosynthesis. Magnum is vital for plant growth and health as it serves to metabolize carbohydrates, catalyze phosphate metabolism, plant respiration and activates many enzyme systems.

Benefits

  • Magnesium is mobile within the plant and moves easily from older to younger tissues.
  • When mg deficiencies occur, the lower (older) leaves are affected first.
  • Plants require mg to capture the sun’s energy for growth and production through photosynthesis.
  • Magnesium acts as a phosphorus carrier in plants and is required for better root formation and thus for better nutrient and water efficiency in plants.
  • Small amounts of magnum can be applied to growing crops through foliar fertigation to correct or prevent developing deficiencies. The preferred approach is to soil-apply the required amounts of mg before crops are planted or before they begin active growth.
  • To avoid the tips and edges of leaves becoming reddish-purple in case of severe deficiencies (especially with cotton) use magnum.

Usage

  • Crops - all cereals, pulses-oil seed crops, horticultural crops, and cotton.
  • Mode of application - soil application & foliar spray
  • Dosage - 10 - 25 kg per acre at the time of first or second top dressing & 1 kg per acre for foliar application.
