It is commonly used to control pests in agricultural, horticultural, and public health settings. Malathion works by disrupting the insect's nervous system. It is a relatively low-toxicity insecticide for mammals, but it can be harmful if ingested, inhaled, or absorbed through the skin.

Mode of action:

• Malathion enters the insect's body through contact, ingestion, or inhalation.
