EBS Oscar is a systemic fungicide containing Thifluzamide 24% SC, belonging to the SDHI (Succinate Dehydrogenase Inhibitor) group. Once applied, it gets absorbed into the plant and moves through its entire system — stopping fungal growth by blocking enzymes in the mitochondria of the fungal cell. Thifluzamide 24% SC is used as a preventive and curative application, making it flexible for the farmers. EBS Oscar is specifically registered for Sheath Blight control in Paddy crop.
Systemic Protection: EBS Oscar fungicide travels through the plant's vascular system after absorption — reaching every part of the crop.
Preventive and Curative: Thifluzamide 24% SC works as a preventive spray before disease appears and as a curative treatment after infection has already started.
Long Residual: It provides long-lasting protection to the crops with systemic action and reduces crop damage.
Rainfast: This fungicide is absorbed quickly into plant tissue and remains effective even after light rainfall.
Resistance Management: Thifluzamide 24% SC is effective against fungal strains that have developed resistance to Benzimidazole and Strobilurin fungicides.
Primary Disease: Sheath Blight (Rhizoctonia solani) in Paddy / Rice
Other Diseases: Black Scurf in Potato, Root Rot, Damping Off
Mix EBS Oscar in 200 liters of water per acre for foliar spray. Apply Thifluzamide 24% SC at the maximum tillering stage or at the first sign of Sheath Blight for best results.
Crop | Target Disease | Dose / Acre | Per 15L Pump | PHI |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Paddy / Rice | Sheath Blight, Rhizoctonia Solani | 150 ml | 11–12 ml | 28 days |
Note: Never exceed the recommended dose.
Shake the EBS Oscar bottle well before measuring the required dose.
Fill the sprayer halfway with clean water.
Add the required quantity of fungicide and fill with the remaining water.
Stir well to form a uniform suspension.
Spray evenly and ensure coverage reaches the base and lower sheaths of the plant.
Apply at the maximum tillering stage or at the first sign of Sheath Blight symptoms.
Rinse the sprayer with clean water after use.
Spray in the early morning or late evening when temperatures are cool and wind speed is low. Apply at the maximum tillering stage (35 to 50 days after transplanting) for best control of Sheath Blight before it spreads upward to the flag leaf.
Frequency of Application: Apply at the maximum tillering stage. Repeat after 14 days if disease pressure continues. Two sprays per season are generally sufficient for effective control.
Re-Entry Period: Do not enter treated fields for at least 24 hours after spraying without proper protective gear.
Tank-mix Compatibility: Compatible with most commonly used insecticides and fungicides. Always do a jar test before mixing. Do not mix with strongly alkaline products.
Wear full protective gear, including gloves, goggles, and a face mask, before handling.
Do not eat, drink, or smoke during mixing or spraying.
Wash all exposed skin with soap and water right after use.
Keep children, pets, and livestock away from treated fields for 24 hours.
Avoid spraying near ponds, rivers, or fish farms.
Triple-rinse empty containers, puncture, and discard as per local waste guidelines.
Store in its original sealed container in a cool, dry, shaded area away from direct sunlight.
Keep away from food, animal feed, drinking water, and seeds.
Keep out of reach of children and farm animals at all times.
Storage Temperature: Below 35°C
Shelf Life: 2 years from the date of manufacture.

Specifically registered for Sheath Blight control in Paddy — a soil-borne disease caused by Rhizoctonia solani that can wipe out 24 to 50% of rice yield when left uncontrolled.
When should I apply EBS Oscar in Paddy?
The critical window is 35 to 50 days after transplanting at the maximum tillering stage — this is when Sheath Blight first appears on the lower sheaths and must be stopped before it climbs to the flag leaf.
Both — apply it before symptoms appear as a shield, or after the first spots are visible to stop the disease from spreading further up the plant.
Up to 28 days from a single spray — longer than most contact fungicides, with systemic movement inside the plant.
Early morning or late evening when the weather is calm. Always use high water volume (200 liters per acre) to ensure the spray reaches the base of the plant where infection begins.
