Dhanuka Targa Super herbicide is a selective, systemic, post-emergence weed-removing crop remedy containing Quizalofop Ethyl 5% EC. This herbicide works by inhibiting an essential enzyme, stopping the synthesis of fatty acids in weeds, leading to their death. The Targa Super herbicide has strong rainfast properties and offers quick weed relief, making it highly effective while being safe to use.
Strong Rainfast Performance: Targa Super is absorbed quickly when applied to the weed and cannot be washed away easily by the rain.
Effective Working: This Quizalofop Ethyl 5% EC formula kills weeds quickly and stops them from growing back, ensuring healthier fields.
Safe to Use: Dhanuka Targa Super has selective properties that ensure crop safety while targeting harmful weeds only.
Prolonged Effects: The Quizalofop Ethyl 5% EC formula also offers long-lasting residual effects, stopping new weeds from germinating.
Quick Results: The Targa Super herbicide shows quick results, just within 10 to 15 days of application, leading to healthier crops for better yields.
Targa Super Uses cover narrow-leaf and grassy weed control across all registered broadleaf crops:
Annual Grassy Weeds: Echinochloa crus-galli (Barnyard Grass), Echinochloa colona (Jungle Rice), Digitaria spp. (Crabgrass), Eleusine indica (Goosegrass), Dactyloctenium aegyptium, Dinebra retroflexa, Eragrostis spp., Paspalidium spp., Setaria spp. (Foxtail)
Perennial Grassy Weeds: Cynodon dactylon (Doob Grass), Saccharum spp. (Kans Grass), Hemarthria spp. (Suttu), Wild Sorghum, Volunteer Paddy, Volunteer Maize, Volunteer Pearl Millet
Registered Crops: Cotton, Soybean, Onion, Blackgram, Groundnut
Important: Targa Super herbicide is strictly NOT recommended for use in Paddy, Wheat, Sorghum, Maize, Barley, Pearl Millet, or Sugarcane; it will damage these grass-family crops.
The Targa Super Dose Per Litre is 1.5–2 ml per litre of water for most annual grassy weed applications. For perennial and deep-rooted weeds, a higher dose of 2.5–3 ml per litre is recommended.
Crop | Target Weeds | Dose Per Acre | Per Litre of Water | Timing |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Cotton | Echinochloa spp., Digitaria, Dinebra | 300–400 ml | 1.5–2 ml | 20–25 DAS — 3–5 leaf weed stage |
Soybean | Echinochloa spp., Eragrostis spp. | 300–400 ml | 1.5–2 ml | 20–25 DAS — 3–5 leaf weed stage |
Onion | Digitaria, Eleusine, Dactyloctenium, Eragrostis | 300–400 ml | 1.5–2 ml | 20–25 DAS — 3–5 leaf weed stage |
Blackgram | Eleusine, Dactyloctenium, Digitaria, Echinochloa | 300–400 ml | 1.5–2 ml | 20–25 DAS — 3–5 leaf weed stage |
Groundnut | Echinochloa colona, Dinebra, Dactyloctenium | 300–400 ml | 1.5–2 ml | 20–25 DAS — 3–5 leaf weed stage |
Perennial Weeds (All Registered Crops) | Cynodon, Saccharum, Wild Sorghum | 500–600 ml | 2.5–3 ml | When actively growing — 5+ leaf stage |
Measure the required dose of Quizalofop Ethyl 5% EC as per the crop-wise dose table above.
Add the measured quantity to a sprayer tank half-filled with clean water and mix well before topping up.
Fill with the remaining clean water and agitate to form a uniform spray solution.
Use a flat fan nozzle for uniform coverage — spray directly onto the weed foliage for complete leaf absorption.
Apply 20–25 days after sowing when weeds are at the 3–5 leaf stage — early-stage weeds are most susceptible to ACCase inhibition and die fastest.
For perennial weeds, apply when plants are actively growing at the 5+ leaf stage for the best translocation to underground root and rhizome tissue.
Spray during calm, dry weather — do not spray during strong winds or when rain is expected within 1 hour of application.
Rinse the sprayer thoroughly with clean water after use — residues of Targa Super in the tank can damage grass-family crops sprayed afterward.
Apply Targa Super herbicide in the early morning or late evening. Apply at the 3–5 leaf weed stage — 20–25 days after sowing — for the fastest and most complete grassy weed kill. Always add a non-ionic surfactant or sticker to improve coverage and adhesion on waxy-surfaced weed leaves.
Frequency of Application: One well-timed application at the correct weed growth stage is generally sufficient for season-long grassy weed control. A second application may be needed for heavy perennial weed infestations or if a new flush of grass weed emergence follows after the residual period.
Re-Entry Period: Do not enter treated fields for at least 12 hours after application without protective gear.
Tank-Mix Compatibility: Targa Super can be tank-mixed with compatible broadleaf herbicides for combined weed management. Avoid mixing with Chlorimuron Ethyl-containing herbicides as this may reduce grass weed control. Always perform a jar test before mixing with unfamiliar products.
Do not spray Quizalofop Ethyl 5% EC near or on Paddy, Wheat, Maize, Sorghum, Barley, Pearl Millet, or Sugarcane — including neighbouring fields where drift may contact these crops.
Always rinse the sprayer with clean water after use before spraying any grass-family crop.
Wear gloves, goggles, and a face mask before handling or spraying Targa Super herbicide.
Do not eat, drink, or smoke during mixing or application.
Avoid direct contact with skin and eyes — rinse immediately with clean water for 15 minutes if contact occurs.
Do not allow spray drift onto neighbouring grass-family crops — Quizalofop Ethyl 5% EC will severely damage Paddy, Wheat, Maize, and other grass crops on contact.
Keep children, pets, and livestock away from treated fields for at least 12 hours.
Wash all exposed skin thoroughly with soap and water after every spray session.
Triple rinse empty containers, puncture, and dispose of per local waste guidelines.
Store Targa Super in its original sealed container in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat.
Keep away from food, animal feed, and seeds.
Store out of reach of children and farm animals.
Storage Temperature: Below 35°C.
Shelf Life: 2 years from the date of manufacture.
