The Real Trust HDPE Azolla Bed is a heavy-duty Azolla Growing Bed designed to help farmers grow Azolla — a protein-rich aquatic fern used as cattle feed, poultry feed, fish feed, and bio-fertilizer. Built from 100% virgin High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) woven fabric and laminated for full waterproofing, the bed is UV-stabilised, puncture-resistant, tear-resistant, and leakage-proof. This bed measures 3.6 m x 1.2 m x 0.3 m and can produce around 2 kg of fresh Azolla per day. The Azolla Growing Bed comes with 14 reinforced side pockets for easy installation with bamboo or PVC pipes, making it quick to set up on any flat shaded patch close to the cattle shed.
Premium HDPE Construction: The Real Trust HDPE Azolla Bed is woven from 100% virgin HDPE fabric, giving high tensile strength, puncture resistance, and a long usable life of up to 10 to 12 years.
UV Stabilised: The Azolla Growing Bed is treated with anti-UV additives that protect the fabric from sunlight damage, preventing the bed from cracking or fading over the years of outdoor use.
100% Waterproof: The Real Trust HDPE Azolla Bed has heat-sealed seams and laminated layers that keep water locked in with zero leakage, even after months of continuous cultivation.
High Daily Yield: A single 12 x 4 ft Azolla Growing Bed produces around 2 kg of fresh Azolla per day, enough to supplement feed for 2 dairy cows or a small flock of poultry.
Boosts Milk Production: Feeding 1.5 to 2 kg of fresh Azolla mixed with regular feed raises milk yield in dairy cattle by 15 to 20%, while also improving milk fat content and animal health.
Multi-Purpose Use: The Real Trust HDPE Azolla Bed can also be used as a small fish pond, duck pond, or water-storage tank for the garden or farm.

Choose a flat, level site close to the cattle shed and water source, ideally with less than 50% natural shade or a green-net cover, since Azolla grows best at 20°C to 28°C.
Clear the ground of stones, twigs, and sharp objects to avoid punctures, then spread a soft base layer of dry grass or sand for cushioning.
Unfold the Real Trust HDPE Azolla Bed flat on the prepared ground, with the 14 pockets facing the four sides.
Cut bamboo poles or PVC pipes to match the bed length and width, and slide them through the side pockets to lift the walls straight up to full 2-foot height.
Tie the corners with rope or wire to keep the walls upright, then check that the bed is level on all four sides.
Spread 10 to 15 kg of sieved fertile soil evenly across the floor of the Azolla Growing Bed.
Prepare a slurry of 2 kg of cow dung and 30 g of superphosphate in 10 litres of water and pour it over the soil.
Fill the Azolla Growing Bed with clean water to a depth of about 10 cm (4 inches) and let it stand for 1 to 2 days.
Add 800 g to 1 kg of fresh Azolla starter culture, spreading it evenly across the water surface for uniform growth.
Cover the top with a green shade net to keep out falling leaves, debris, and direct harsh sunlight.
Do not install the Real Trust HDPE Azolla Bed on uneven or stony ground, as water pressure can stretch the fabric over sharp points and cause leakage over time.
Top up the Azolla Growing Bed with fresh water regularly to keep the depth at 10 to 15 cm; very low water levels expose the floor to heat and harm the Azolla.
Refresh 25 to 30% of the bed water every 10 days and replace 5 kg of bed soil every 30 days, to stop harmful nitrogen build-up that kills the crop.
Empty, clean, and refill the entire Azolla Growing Bed once every 6 months to refresh the system and reset nutrient balance for a healthy next cycle.
Wash the harvested Azolla in clean water before feeding to livestock, since traces of cow dung slurry can cause off-flavours in milk or stomach upset in animals.
Keep small children, pets, and stray animals away from the open Azolla Growing Bed; the 2-foot water depth can be a drowning hazard for toddlers and pets.
A 12 ft x 4 ft Real Trust HDPE Azolla Bed produces around 2 kg of fresh Azolla per day once the first crop is ready, which usually takes 15 to 20 days after setup. Larger bed sizes scale up the daily yield proportionally to surface area.
HDPE is far stronger, UV-stable, and more puncture-resistant than ordinary plastic sheeting. A regular plastic-lined pit lasts 6 to 12 months, while an HDPE-built Azolla Growing Bed gives 10 to 12 years of trouble-free service with the same kind of care.
Yes. Azolla grows best at 20°C to 28°C and slows down or dies above 35°C. The Azolla Growing Bed should be set up under partial shade — a green net, tree cover, or shed extension — to keep the water cool and the Azolla healthy through summer.
The Real Trust HDPE Azolla Bed should be fully emptied, cleaned, and refilled with fresh water and Azolla culture once every 6 months. In between, replace about 25-30% of the water every 10 days and 5 kg of bed soil every 30 days for a steady yield.
Yes. Apart from Azolla farming, the Real Trust HDPE Azolla Bed works well as a small fish pond, duck pond, or backyard water-storage tank. Some farmers also use it for vegetable washing or as a temporary aquaculture nursery for tilapia and carp fingerlings.
