Mode Of Action:
Abamectin 1.9% Ec is a nerve poison.
It generally works by amplifying the glutamate effects on the invertebrates-specific gated chloride channel, which prevents the transmission of electrical impulses in the muscles and nerves of invertebrates.
They activate the gamma-aminobutyric acid (gaba) system, which produces a chemical “transmitter” at nerve endings that inhibits both nerve-to-nerve and nerve-to-muscle communication. After a few days, the affected insect becomes paralyzed, stops feeding, and dies.
