Adama Paranex is a broad-spectrum and non-selective herbicide that offers a strong contact mode of action. It works by rapidly disrupting the photosynthesis process in green plant tissues upon contact. The Paranex herbicide is effective against a wide range of weeds as it is non-selective, clearing large fields easily and offering strong clearing even during the rainy season. Apart from agricultural fields, the Adama Paranex herbicide can be used for roadsides, bunds, and irrigation channels as well.
Key Features and Benefits of Paranex herbicide:
Quick Action: Adama Paranex starts working within minutes of application, ensuring healthier crops rapidly.
Rainfast Application: The Paranex herbicide is absorbed quickly upon application and cannot be washed away easily by the rain.
Safe to Use: Adama Paranex herbicide binds to the soil and breaks down rapidly, leaving behind no harmful residue.
Broad-Spectrum: The Adama Paranex herbicide controls various annual and perennial grassy weeds, broadleaf weeds, and sedges.
Versatile Uses: This herbicide can be used for multiple crops and non-cropped areas, making it highly versatile.
Paranex Herbicide Uses — Target Weeds and Application Areas:
Paranex herbicide covers all weed types in registered and directed-spray application areas:
Annual Grassy Weeds: Echinochloa spp. (Barnyard Grass), Digitaria spp. (Crabgrass), Eleusine indica (Goosegrass)
Perennial Grassy Weeds: Cynodon dactylon (Bermuda/Doob Grass), Imperata cylindrica (Thatch Grass)
Broadleaf Weeds: Amaranthus spp. (Pigweed), Parthenium spp. (Congress Grass), Portulaca oleracea (Purslane), Tridax procumbens
Sedges: Cyperus rotundus (Nutsedge / Motha)
Registered Crops / Areas: Grapes, Tea, Rubber, Cotton, Potato, Paddy (pre-sowing), Sugarcane, Roadsides, Bunds, Irrigation Channels, Non-Crop Areas
Note: Restricted in the state of Kerala.
Adama Paranex Dose — Recommended Dose:
The Paranex herbicide dose per litre is 1.7–8.5 ml per litre of water depending on the crop, weed type, and infestation density.
Crop / Use Area | Dose Per Litre | Per Acre | Notes |
Tea | 1.7–8.5 ml | 340 ml–1.7 litres | Directed spray between rows |
Grapes | 5 ml | 1 litre | Directed inter-row spray |
Rubber | 2.5–5 ml | 500 ml–1 litre | Directed inter-row spray |
Cotton | 2.5–4.25 ml | 500–850 ml | Directed inter-row spray |
Potato | 2–4.25 ml | 400–850 ml | Pre-plant directed spray |
Paddy (Pre-Sowing) | 2.5–8 ml | 500 ml–1.6 litres | Apply 7–10 days before sowing |
Sugarcane | 5 ml | 1 litre | Directed inter-row spray |
Non-Crop / Roadsides | 5–8.5 ml | 1.0–1.7 litres | Broadcast on all actively growing weeds |
Paranex Herbicide How to Use — Application Instructions:
Apply Paranex herbicide correctly to ensure maximum weed kill and crop safety:
Measure the required dose of Adama Paranex as per the crop-wise dose table above — always use the lower dose for young, tender weeds and the higher dose for dense or mature growth.
Add the measured quantity to a sprayer tank half-filled with clean water, mix well, and fill with the remaining water before spraying.
Use a flat fan nozzle with a spray hood for all directed inter-row applications — never allow Paranex herbicide spray to contact desirable crop foliage.
Direct the spray at ground level onto green weed foliage — Adama Paranex is a contact herbicide and must directly contact the weed leaf surface for absorption.
Apply when weeds are actively growing — young, growing weeds absorb Paraquat fastest and die most completely.
Do not spray during windy conditions, foggy weather, or when rain is expected within 30 minutes of application.
Do not allow spray drift or runoff into water bodies, fish ponds, or rivers — Adama Paranex herbicide is highly toxic to aquatic organisms.
Rinse all sprayer equipment thoroughly with clean water after use.
Best Time to Apply:
Apply Adama Paranex in the early morning or late evening on actively growing weeds. For pre-sowing use in Paddy and other crops, apply 7–10 days before sowing for best clearance results.
Frequency of Application and Re-Entry Period:
Frequency of Application: Apply as needed for each flush of weed emergence. One well-timed application per weed flush is generally sufficient. Repeat as needed for newly emerging weed flushes across the season.
Re-Entry Period: Do not enter treated areas for at least 24 hours after spraying. Paraquat Dichloride is highly toxic — always wear full protective gear during application and avoid field re-entry until the spray has completely dried.
Tank-Mix Compatibility: Adama Paranex herbicide is generally used as a standalone product. Consult the label before mixing with other herbicides or crop protection inputs.
Safety Precautions and Handling:
Paraquat Dichloride is a highly toxic compound. Read all precautions carefully before use.
Wear chemical-grade gloves, a full face mask, goggles, and complete protective clothing before handling or spraying Adama Paranex.
Do not eat, drink, or smoke during mixing or application — never remove protective gear near the spray area.
Avoid all direct skin, eye, and inhalation exposure — if contact occurs, rinse immediately with large amounts of clean water for 15–20 minutes and seek urgent medical attention.
Do not allow spray drift onto crop plants, neighbouring fields, water bodies, or populated areas.
Keep children, pets, and livestock strictly away from treated areas for at least 48 hours.
Store and transport only in original labelled containers — never transfer to food containers or unlabelled vessels.
In case of accidental swallowing, go to the nearest hospital immediately — do not induce vomiting. Take the product container to the doctor.
Triple rinse empty containers, puncture, and dispose of per CIBandRC and local chemical waste disposal regulations.
