The Barrix Catch fruit fly trap Set is a pheromone-based pest control solution by Barrix Agro Sciences, designed to attract, trap, and eliminate the Oriental Fruit Fly (Bactrocera dorsalis). Each set includes the trap body and the Barrix Catch fruit fly lure, which releases a steady scent of a pheromone to draw male fruit flies in with no way to escape. It uses the Male Annihilation Technique to disrupt the breeding cycle and crash the fly population over time. It is UV-stabilized and made with weather-resistant plastic. The Barrix Catch Fruit Fly Trap is reusable for up to 4 to 5 seasons.
Male Annihilation Technique (MAT): Specifically targets male Bactrocera dorsalis flies, cutting off reproduction and causing a steady drop in pest population across the season.
Pathway Block Technology: Three fly-entry holes at 120° angles let flies enter freely, while the Barrix Catch fruit fly lure positioned at the top center blocks every escape route.
Long-Lasting Pheromone Lure: The Barrix Catch fruit fly lure uses capillary impregnation technology for a slow, steady release of 4-Allyl Veratrol that stays active for up to 90 days per lure.
Rain Protection Design: The umbrella-shaped cap guards the lure against direct rainfall, preventing pheromone washout and maintaining performance through the monsoon.
High Capture Capacity: The container holds up to 5,400 dead flies before needing to be emptied, making it low-maintenance even in high-infestation fields.
Durable and Reusable: UV-stabilized, thermally stable plastic withstands heat, rain, and wind — the trap body is reusable for 4–5 seasons with only lure replacements needed.
Cuts Down Pesticide Use: Regular deployment of the Barrix Catch fruit fly trap saves at least 4 unnecessary chemical sprays per season, reducing cost and keeping produce residue-free.

Unpack the set and verify that the trap body, cap, hanger, and Barrix Catch fruit fly lure are all present.
Insert the hanger through the hole on the trap cap and lock it by twisting and pressing firmly.
Remove the Barrix Catch fruit fly lure from its sealed pack using gloves or a plastic bag — never touch the lure directly as skin oils reduce effectiveness.
Place the lure into the "C" curve holder inside the cap and rotate to fix it securely.
Hang the trap 3–5 feet above ground under crop canopy shade, ensuring the lure is firmly fixed and will not swing in the wind.
Space 5–7 traps evenly per acre for effective field coverage.
After 15 days, add 1–2 drops of Malathion or DDVP to the lure using an ink filler to boost performance.
Replace the Barrix Catch fruit fly lure every 90 days, or sooner if catches drop noticeably.
When the container fills up, remove and bury the dead flies at least 1 foot underground, or burn them away from the field.
Always handle the Barrix Catch fruit fly lure with gloves — direct skin contact reduces potency and may cause mild irritation.
Wear gloves when adding pesticide drops to the lure and avoid inhaling fumes.
Do not place traps near water bodies, beehives, or areas with high beneficial insect activity.
Keep the trap and lure away from children and pets at all times.
Dispose of spent lures and dead flies by burying or burning — never leave them exposed near harvested produce.
Store unused lures in a cool, dry place away from sunlight to preserve pheromone potency.
