Teak Wood Seeds (Tectona grandis) sagwan seeds

1. TEAK is a very popular timber tree. TEAK is a large deciduous tree that mature plants can reach 30 to 40 m in height and 2 m in diameter.

2. TEAK is considered a good quality wood for furniture.

3. TEAK - seeds Germination percentage: 50 to 60 %

4. PRETREATMENT: - TEAK SEEDS are immersion in cold water for 10 to 15 days or alternate soaking and drying for 48 hours each for 10 to 15 days.

5. NURSERY TECHNIQUE: Pretreated seeds are put in Mother beds and provided watered every day. Germination takes place in 10 to 15 days.

Rosewood tree Seed - (Dalbergia latifolia Seed)

Nursery Technique :
Seeds are sown in primary beds (porous sandy loam soil) in drills. Germination comes within 10 days and then the seedlings are transplanted into polythene bags. Shade is necessary.

Gmelina Arborea Tree Seeds

Nursery Technique :
Seed is dibbled to a depth of 2 cms in the soil of polybags. A considerable amount of heat and moisture is needed to stimulate the germination and so the beds are covered with a layer of hay. The growth of the taproot is slow.
