Sumitomo Swadheen is a strong combinational fungicide that offers systemic and contact modes of action. It works by inhibiting ergosterol biosynthesis, which disrupts membrane structure, stopping fungal growth and disrupting fungal respiration and enzyme activity, which prevents fungal spore germination. The Swadheen fungicide offers rapid absorption with triple action, making it highly effective for chilli and soybean crops.
Triple Action: Swadheen fungicide offers systemic, contact, and vapour action, providing effective protection.
Rapid Absorption: The Sumitomo Swadheen is absorbed by the crops within just two hours of application, making it rainfast.
Dual Application: Sumitomo Swadheen fungicide can be used as a preventive and curative application, making it highly versatile.
Additional Targets: While acting as a fungicide, the Sumitomo Swadheen can also be used to target mites as well.
Resistance Management: The Swadheen fungicide offers a combinational formula that makes it tough for the pathogens to develop resistance.
Swadheen fungicide targets key fungal diseases in both registered crops:
Chilli: Powdery Mildew (Leveillula taurica), Fruit Rot (Colletotrichum capsici, Phytophthora capsici)
Soybean: Leaf Spot (Cercospora sojina, Septoria glycines), Pod Blight (Colletotrichum truncatum)
Registered Crops: Chilli and Soybean
The Swadheen fungicide dose per litre is 2.5 gm per litre of water — equivalent to 35 gm per 15L pump and 500 gm per acre in 200 litres of water for both registered crops.
Crop | Target Disease | Dose Per Acre | Per 15L Pump | PHI |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Chilli | Powdery Mildew, Fruit Rot | 500 gm | 35 gm | 7 days |
Soybean | Leaf Spot, Pod Blight | 500 gm | 35 gm | 20 days |
Measure the required dose of Swadheen fungicide as per the crop-wise dose table above.
Pre-mix the measured granules in a small amount of clean water in a separate container and stir until fully dissolved.
Add the dissolved solution to the sprayer tank half-filled with clean water and mix well before filling completely.
Spray evenly on all plant surfaces — upper and lower leaf surfaces, stems, and fruit zones — for thorough coverage.
Apply at the very first sign of Powdery Mildew whitening on Chilli leaves or the first Leaf Spot lesions on Soybean for early curative action.
For preventive use, apply when weather conditions of high humidity and moderate temperature favour fungal disease development.
Spray during early morning or late evening — avoid spraying in extreme heat or when rain is expected within 2 hours.
Rinse the sprayer thoroughly with clean water after every use.
Best Time to Apply:
Apply Sumitomo Swadheen in the early morning or late evening. For Chilli, begin preventive sprays from the pre-flowering stage onward — when the crop is most susceptible to Powdery Mildew and Fruit Rot. For Soybean, apply from the vegetative stage when Leaf Spot first becomes visible during wet and humid weather.
Frequency of Application: Apply every 12–15 days during active disease pressure. Do not exceed 3–4 applications per season — always rotate Swadheen fungicide with products from different FRAC groups after 2 consecutive sprays to prevent resistance in target fungal populations.
Re-Entry Period: Do not enter treated fields for at least 24 hours after spraying without proper protective gear.
Tank-Mix Compatibility: Sumitomo Swadheen is compatible with most fungicides and insecticides. Avoid mixing with strongly alkaline products. Always perform a jar test before mixing with unfamiliar inputs.
Wear gloves, goggles, and a face mask before handling or spraying Swadheen fungicide.
Do not eat, drink, or smoke during mixing or application.
Avoid direct contact with skin and eyes — rinse immediately with clean water for 15 minutes if contact occurs.
Avoid inhaling the spray mist — Sulphur-based products can irritate the respiratory tract.
Keep children, pets, and livestock away from treated fields for at least 24 hours.
Wash all exposed skin thoroughly with soap and water after every spray session.
Triple rinse empty containers, puncture, and dispose of per local waste guidelines.
Store Sumitomo Swadheen fungicide in its original sealed packaging in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture.
Keep packaging tightly sealed after use to prevent moisture absorption.
Keep away from food, animal feed, and seeds.
Store out of reach of children and farm animals.
Storage Temperature: Below 35°C.
