HPM Dhavak is a non-selective, post-emergence herbicide formulated with Glufosinate Ammonium 13.5% SL. It provides rapid knockdown of a wide range of annual and perennial weeds in crops like cotton and tea, as well as non-crop areas. It is effective even under low sunlight, and its lower residual toxicity makes it less harmful to soil compared to many other chemical herbicides.

Glufosinate Ammonium inhibits glutamine synthetase, leading to the accumulation of ammonia in plant cells, which disrupts photosynthesis and leads to rapid plant desiccation and death. It is absorbed through foliage and not significantly translocated, making it effective for contact weed control.
