Gateway GR Insecticide Uses are focused on Lepidopteran borers in two primary crops:
Paddy / Rice: Yellow Stem Borer (Scirpophaga incertulas) — causing Dead Heart at tillering and White Ear at panicle stage; Leaf Folder (Cnaphalocrocis medinalis)
Sugarcane: Early Shoot Borer (Chilo infuscatellus), Top Borer (Scirpophaga excerptalis)
Registered Crops: Paddy (Rice) and Sugarcane
The Gateway GR Insecticide Dose Per Litre does not apply since this is a dry granular broadcast product and is not dissolved in water. The dose is measured in kilograms per acre and broadcast directly over the crop field.

Measure 4 kg of Tata Gateway GR per acre for Paddy, or 7.5 kg per acre for Sugarcane — using a clean weighing scale for accurate measurement.
Ensure the paddy field has 3–5 cm of standing water before broadcasting — water in the field helps the granules dissolve, and the active ingredient reach the root zone uniformly.
Broadcast the Gateway GR insecticide granules evenly across the entire field by hand — divide the dose into small portions and walk the field systematically for complete coverage.
For Sugarcane, broadcast the granules into the inter-row zone where the crop roots can absorb the product after the next irrigation or rainfall.
If mixing with fertilizer, blend Tata Gateway GR granules with Urea or DAP before spreading — this helps distribute the dose evenly across a larger area.
Do not apply if heavy rainfall is expected immediately after broadcasting — rain can carry the granules to the field border before the crop roots can absorb the active ingredient.
Maintain standing water in the Paddy field for at least 5–7 days after application for best root absorption and pest control.
Wear gloves and a dust mask while measuring and broadcasting Gateway GR insecticide — avoid inhaling granule dust during application.
Apply Tata Gateway GR at the early infestation stage — or as a preventive treatment at the active tillering stage (20–25 days after sowing) in Paddy and at the early growth stage (30–45 days after sowing) in Sugarcane. Early application prevents borers from entering the stem and causing yield loss.
Frequency of Application: One well-timed application provides 21–30 days of protection. Repeat only if new pest pressure is observed after the residual period. Do not exceed 2 applications per season — rotate Gateway GR insecticide with products from different IRAC groups in subsequent seasons.
Re-Entry Period: No strict re-entry period given the broadcast granular application method — wait for the granule dust to settle fully before re-entering the field. Standard protective precautions apply.
Compatibility: Tata Gateway GR can be dry-mixed with Urea and DAP for broadcast. Do not dissolve in spray water — Gateway GR insecticide is not a sprayable product.
