Pellot is a plant growth regulator containing Paclobutrazol 23% SC — one of the most widely used and trusted growth regulators in mango and fruit crop cultivation across India. Once applied as a soil drench, it gets absorbed through the roots and travels to the actively growing shoot tips — where it blocks gibberellin production, the hormone responsible for vegetative shoot elongation. Paclobutrazol 23% SC stops the plant from pushing excessive new leaves and shoots growth and redirects all available energy toward flower bud formation, fruit set, and fruit development. Pellot PGR promotes more uniform flowering, better fruit retention, and significantly higher yield. Pellot is most widely used on Mango and also effective on Pomegranate, Apple, Grapes, Onion, Groundnut, and other fruit and vegetable crops.
Controls Vegetative Growth: Paclobutrazol 23% SC blocks gibberellin production and stops excessive shoot and leaf elongation — redirects plant energy from leaves to flowers and fruits.
Advanced Flowering: Pellot PGR induces early and uniform flower bud formation — mango trees treated with Paclobutrazol flower earlier and more uniformly than untreated trees.
Improves Fruit Set: Paclobutrazol 23% SC reduces pre-harvest fruit drop and improves the number of fruits retained on the tree through to harvest.
Better Fruit Quality: Paclobutrazol 23% SC produces bigger, more uniformly colored, and better quality fruits that command higher market prices.
Long Duration of Action: A single well-timed soil drench application remains active for 2 to 3 seasons, significantly reducing the cost and effort of crop management.
Compact Canopy: Paclobutrazol 23% SC reduces internode lengths of new shoots and promotes earlier terminal bud formation.
Mango: Advances and synchronizes flowering, reduces malformation, improves fruit size and color, and gives significantly higher and more uniform yield per tree.
Pomegranate: Paclobutrazol 23% SC controls excessive vegetative growth and promotes more uniform flowering and better fruit set across the orchard.
Apple: Reduces vegetative vigor, improves return bloom, and helps in better fruit color and size development.
Grapes: Paclobutrazol 23% SC controls shoot growth and redirects energy to berry development — improves berry size, color, and sugar content.
Onion and Garlic: Controls leaf growth and redirects energy to bulb development — improves bulb size, uniformity, and yield.
Groundnut: Paclobutrazol 23% SC controls canopy growth and improves pod filling and overall yield.
Apply Pellot as a soil drench around the root zone of the plant. Dilute Paclobutrazol 23% SC in the required quantity of water and pour uniformly around the drip circle of the tree for best absorption.
Crop | Purpose | Dose Per Tree / Acre | Diluted In Water | When to Apply |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Mango (7–15 years) | Induce flowering, improve yield | 15–20 ml per tree | 5–10 liters per tree | October to November (60–90 days before expected flowering) |
Mango (16–25 years) | Induce flowering, improve yield | 20–30 ml per tree | 5–10 liters per tree | October to November (60–90 days before expected flowering) |
Mango (above 25 years) | Induce flowering, improve yield | 30–40 ml per tree | 10 liters per tree | October to November (60–90 days before expected flowering) |
Pomegranate | Control growth, improve flowering | 3 ml per tree | 2 liters per tree | 60 days before flowering |
Apple | Control growth, improve fruit set | 10 ml per tree | 5 liters per tree | Post-harvest stage |
Onion / Garlic / Groundnut | Control foliage, improve bulb and pod | 3–5 ml per 15 liters of water | Foliar spray | At the vegetative stage |
Note: Never exceed the recommended dose — overdose can severely suppress plant growth and flowering for multiple seasons.
Measure the required quantity of Pellot as per the dosage table for the crop and tree age.
Dilute the required dose in 5 to 10 liters of clean water per tree.
Clear the soil and remove weeds around the drip circle of the tree before application.
Pour the diluted solution uniformly around the drip circle — do not apply close to the trunk.
For foliar use on Onion, Garlic, and Groundnut, dilute 3 to 5 ml in 15 liters of water and spray evenly.
Ensure adequate soil moisture at the time of application for best root absorption.
Do not irrigate heavily immediately after application — light irrigation is sufficient.
Apply Paclobutrazol 23% SC 60 to 90 days before the expected flowering period for best results. For Mango in India, October to November is the recommended application window to advance and synchronize flowering in the upcoming season.
Frequency of Application: One well-timed soil drench per flowering cycle is sufficient. Do not repeat within the same season. Effects last 2 to 3 seasons from a single application on Mango.
Re-Entry Period: Safe to re-enter treated areas immediately after the application has been completed.
Compatibility: Do not mix with other plant growth regulators. Paclobutrazol 23% SC is compatible with standard fertilizers and pesticides when used separately.
Wear gloves, goggles, and a face mask while measuring and handling the product.
Do not eat, drink, or smoke during mixing or application.
Wash your hands and all exposed skin with soap and water after use.
