Bayer Laudis is a selective and post-emergent herbicide. This herbicide offers a systemic mode of action that works by targeting a specific enzyme, resulting in a distinct visual breakdown of the weed. The Bayer Laudis herbicide offers quick results with prolonged effects, making it very effective for Maize crops.
Key Features and Benefits of Bayer Laudis Herbicide:
Broad-Spectrum: Bayer Laudis herbicide is a broad-spectrum herbicide against grassy and broadleaf weeds.
Quick Results: Laudis herbicide shows quick results within 5 to 7 days for quick weed control, leading to healthier yields.
Effective Action: Bayer Laudis, when applied, is absorbed by the leaf and roots of the weeds, leading to quicker results.
Long Lasting: Bayer Laudis herbicide provides strong residual action in the soil, providing long-lasting weed relief.
Rainfast Properties: After some time of application, the Bayer Laudis herbicide cannot be washed off easily, providing consistent results.
Selective Properties: This herbicide does not harm crops while clearing out the weeds, making it very safe to use.
Bayer Laudis Herbicide Uses — Target Weeds:
Bayer Laudis is registered exclusively for Maize and controls the following weed species:
Grassy Weeds: Echinochloa spp. (Barnyard Grass), Digitaria spp. (Crabgrass), Brachiaria spp.
Broadleaf Weeds: Trianthema portulacastrum (Horse Purslane), Amaranthus spp. (Pigweed), Cyperus spp. (Nutsedge — partial control)
Bayer Laudis Herbicide Dosage Per Litre — Recommended Dose:
Always use Laudis herbicide with a recommended non-ionic surfactant for best leaf absorption and weed coverage.
Crop | Target Weeds | Dose Per Acre | Per 15L Pump | Water Volume Per Acre | PHI |
Maize (Field / Seed / Sweet Corn) | Broadleaf and Grassy Weeds | 115 ml | 8–9 ml | 200 litres | As per label |
How to Use Bayer Laudis Herbicide:
Measure 115 ml of Bayer Laudis per acre as per the dose table above.
Add the measured quantity to a sprayer tank half-filled with clean water and mix well.
Add a non-ionic surfactant at the recommended dose — always include a surfactant as Laudis herbicide requires it for optimal leaf absorption and performance.
Fill the tank with the remaining clean water and agitate to form a uniform spray solution.
Use a flat fan or flood jet nozzle for uniform coverage across the entire weed canopy — good spray coverage is essential for consistent control.
Apply as a directed post-emergence spray when weeds are at the 2–4 leaf stage and actively growing — this is when Bayer Laudis herbicide gives the fastest and most complete control.
Do not spray during strong winds, extreme heat above 35°C, or when rain is expected within 2 hours of application.
Rinse all sprayer equipment thoroughly with clean water after every use.
Best Time to Apply:
Apply it in the early morning or late evening when temperatures are moderate, and weeds are actively growing. Target the 2–4 leaf stage of weed emergence — early-stage weeds absorb Tembotrione most efficiently and die faster than larger, more mature weed plants.
Frequency of Application and Re-Entry Period:
Frequency of Application: One well-timed application at the 2–4 weed leaf stage is generally sufficient for season-long control in Maize. A second application may be made for hard-to-control species or where late-emerging weeds require treatment — do not exceed two applications per season in Field and Seed Corn, and one application in Sweet Corn.
Re-Entry Period: Do not enter treated Maize fields for at least 12 hours after spraying without proper protective gear. Allow the spray to dry and absorb fully before re-entry.
Tank-Mix Compatibility: Laudis herbicide can be tank-mixed with other recommended Maize herbicides where label permits. Always add the required non-ionic surfactant. Perform a jar test before mixing with any unfamiliar product.
Important Note: Bayer Laudis herbicide is registered only for Maize — do not apply to any other crop. Applying to non-registered crops will cause severe crop damage and phytotoxicity.
Safety Precautions and Handling:
Wear gloves, goggles, and a face mask before handling or spraying Bayer Laudis herbicide.
Do not eat, drink, or smoke during mixing or application.
Avoid direct contact with skin and eyes; rinse immediately with clean water for 15 minutes if contact occurs.
Do not apply to any crop other than Maize; Laudis herbicide will damage all non-registered crops.
Keep children, pets, and livestock away from treated fields for at least 12 hours.
Wash all exposed skin thoroughly with soap and water after every spray session.
Triple rinse empty containers, puncture, and dispose of per local waste guidelines.
