FMC Tuventa insecticide is a broad-spectrum pesticide that offers both systemic and contact modes of action. It works by disrupting calcium regulation in insect muscle cells, causing immediate feeding cessation, paralysis, and death. The Tuventa insecticide offers prolonged protection, effective against a wide range of pests. The Tuventa insecticide is compatible with Integrated Pest Management (IPM) techniques, providing many economic and environmental benefits.
Key Features and Benefits of Tuventa Insecticide:
Effective Working: Tuventa insecticide controls various pest life cycles from egg to adult stage, providing effective protection.
Quick Action: The Tuventa insecticide stops feeding in the pest with a strong contact mode of action, preventing crop damage.
Complete Coverage: This insecticide penetrates leaf tissue and offers translaminar movement, which covers the entire crop.
Prolonged Activity: Tuventa insecticide provides long-lasting residual activity, reducing the need for frequent application.
IPM Compatible: The Tuventa insecticide can be used for Integrated Pest Management (IPM) practices due to its low chemical impact.
Rainfast Application: This insecticide has a strong formula that cannot be washed off easily by the rain, for effective protection in harsh weather.
Tuventa Insecticide Uses — What Does It Control?
Borers: Yellow Stem Borer (Paddy), Early Shoot Borer (Sugarcane), Stem Borer (Maize, Sorghum), Spotted Borer, Pink Borer (Cotton)
Caterpillars: Fall Armyworm (Maize), Tobacco Caterpillar (Spodoptera litura), American Bollworm (Helicoverpa armigera)
Leaf Feeders: Leaf Folder (Paddy), Diamondback Moth (Cabbage)
Pod and Fruit Pests: Pod Borer (Chickpea, Green Gram, Pigeon Pea), Fruit Borer (Tomato, Chilli)
Tuventa Insecticide Dose — Crop-Wise Recommended Dose:
Mix Tuventa insecticide in 200 litres of clean water per acre for foliar spray. Apply at the first sign of pest activity or at the egg hatching / early larval stage for maximum ovicidal and larvicidal effectiveness.
Crop | Target Pest | Dose Per Acre | Per 15L Pump | PHI |
Paddy | Yellow Stem Borer, Leaf Folder | 25–30 ml | 2–2.5 ml | 14 days |
Sugarcane | Early Shoot Borer | 30–40 ml | 2.5–3 ml | 30 days |
Maize | Fall Armyworm, Stem Borer | 30–40 ml | 2.5–3 ml | 14 days |
Cotton | Bollworms, Spotted Borer | 25–30 ml | 2–2.5 ml | 14 days |
Tomato | Fruit Borer | 25 ml | 2 ml | 3 days |
Chilli | Fruit Borer | 25 ml | 2 ml | 3 days |
Soybean | Pod Borer, Tobacco Caterpillar | 25–30 ml | 2–2.5 ml | 14 days |
Chickpea / Green Gram / Pigeon Pea | Pod Borer | 25–30 ml | 2–2.5 ml | 7 days |
Groundnut | Spodoptera, Leaf Caterpillars | 25–30 ml | 2–2.5 ml | 14 days |
How To Use FMC Tuventa Insecticide:
Shake the bottle well before measuring — this Tuventa insecticide is a suspension concentrate that settles on standing.
Measure the required dose as per the crop-wise table above — the higher concentration means a much lower volume per acre than 18.5% SC products.
Pre-mix in a small amount of clean water and stir before adding to the sprayer tank.
Fill the tank with the remaining clean water and agitate thoroughly before spraying.
Use a hollow cone or fine-spray nozzle — ensure the spray penetrates deep into the crop canopy, stem bases, and fruit zones where Lepidopteran pests are most active.
Apply Tuventa insecticide at the egg hatching or early larval stage for maximum ovi-larvicidal effect — early application gives the strongest and longest-lasting pest knockdown.
Maintain spray water pH between 6.0 and 7.0 for best formulation stability.
Rinse all sprayer equipment thoroughly with clean water after use.
Best Time to Apply:
Apply Tuventa insecticide in the early morning or late evening. For Paddy stem borers, apply at the active tillering and panicle initiation stages. For Maize Fall Armyworm, spray at the whorl stage when larvae are first detected. Early-stage application gives the best ovi-larvicidal kill and the most complete residual protection per spray.
Frequency of Application and Re-Entry Period:
Frequency of Application: Apply at the first sign of pest infestation or at the Economic Threshold Level. Repeat if pest pressure continues — do not exceed 2–3 applications per season. Always rotate Tuventa insecticide with products from different IRAC groups after 2 applications to prevent resistance.
Re-Entry Period: Do not enter treated fields for at least 12 hours after spraying without protective gear.
Tank-Mix Compatibility: Tuventa insecticide is compatible with most fungicides. Maintain spray water pH between 6.0 and 7.0. Always do a jar test before mixing with unfamiliar products.
Note: Do not use near mulberry farms — Tuventa insecticide contains Chlorantraniliprole, which is toxic to silkworms.
Safety Precautions and Handling:
Wear gloves, goggles, and a face mask before handling or spraying Tuventa insecticide.
Do not eat, drink, or smoke during mixing or application.
Avoid direct contact with skin and eyes — rinse immediately with clean water for 15 minutes if contact occurs.
Do not spray near mulberry farms or silkworm rearing areas.
Keep children, pets, and livestock away from treated fields for at least 12 hours.
Wash all exposed skin with soap and water after every spray session.
Triple rinse empty containers, puncture, and dispose of per local waste guidelines.
