FMC Talstar Plus is a broad-spectrum insecticide that contains Bifenthrin 8% + Clothianidin 10% SC. It offers contact, systemic, and stomach modes of action that work by affecting the pests' central and peripheral nervous systems by keeping the sodium channels open and disrupting pest nerve signals. The FMC Talstar Plus insecticide ensures complete pest protection with its triple mode of action formula that offers long-lasting protection. The Talstar Plus insecticide also has a relatively low chemical impact on the environment, making it suitable for Integrated Pest Management (IPM) systems.

FMC Talstar Plus Dose — Recommended Dose:
The Talstar Plus Insecticide Dosage Per Litre is 1.5–2 ml per litre of water for foliar spray — equivalent to 300–400 ml per acre in 200 litres of water. For soil application, higher doses are applied at or after sowing.
Crop | Target Pest | Application Method | Dose Per Acre | Per 15L Pump | PHI |
Groundnut | Jassids, Thrips, White Grubs, Termites | Foliar + Soil | 300–400 ml | 22–30 ml | 21 days |
Cotton | Jassids, Aphids, Thrips, Whiteflies | Foliar Spray | 300–400 ml | 22–30 ml | 21 days |
Sugarcane | Stem Borer, Termites, White Grubs | Soil / Foliar | 400–500 ml | 30–37 ml | 30 days |
How To Use FMC Talstar Plus Insecticide:
Measure the required dose of Bifenthrin 8% + Clothianidin 10% SC as per the crop-wise dose table above.
Add to the sprayer tank half-filled with clean water and mix well before topping up with the remaining water.
Agitate the tank thoroughly to form a uniform suspension before spraying.
For foliar pest control, use a hollow cone or flat fan nozzle — ensure spray reaches the underside of leaves and the stem base.
For soil pest control in Groundnut and Sugarcane, apply FMC Talstar Plus as a directed soil spray at the base of plants after sowing for uniform soil barrier formation.
Apply at the first sign of pest activity or at the Economic Threshold Level for the target pest.
Spray during early morning or late evening — avoid peak bee foraging hours as Talstar Plus insecticide contains Clothianidin, which is toxic to bees.
Rinse all sprayer equipment thoroughly with clean water after every use of Bifenthrin 8% + Clothianidin 10% SC.
Best Time to Apply:
Apply this Bifenthrin 8% + Clothianidin 10% SC in the early morning or late evening. For White Grub and Termite control in Groundnut and Sugarcane, apply at or just after sowing for the strongest soil barrier. For foliar sucking pest control in Cotton, apply at the first sign of Jassid or Thrips colony formation.
Frequency of Application and Re-Entry Period:
Frequency of Application: Apply at the first sign of pest infestation. FMC Talstar Plus provides longer residual control than conventional pyrethroids — repeat only when pest populations cross the Economic Threshold Level again. Do not exceed 2–3 applications per season. Always rotate with products from different IRAC groups after 2 consecutive applications.
Re-Entry Period: Do not enter treated fields for at least 24 hours after spraying without proper protective gear.
Tank-Mix Compatibility: Bifenthrin 8% + Clothianidin 10% SC insecticide is compatible with most fungicides and insecticides. Avoid mixing with strongly alkaline products. Always perform a jar test before mixing with unfamiliar inputs.
Safety Precautions and Handling:
Wear gloves, goggles, and a face mask before handling or spraying FMC Talstar Plus.
Do not eat, drink, or smoke during mixing or application of Bifenthrin 8% + Clothianidin 10% SC.
Avoid direct contact with skin and eyes — rinse immediately with clean water for 15 minutes if contact occurs.
Toxic to bees — do not spray during active bee foraging hours, near beehives, or on flowering crops.
Toxic to aquatic organisms — do not allow spray drift or runoff near ponds, rivers, or fish farms.
Keep children, pets, and livestock away from treated fields for at least 24 hours.
