FMC Galaxy is an advanced, post-emergence, selective, and contact herbicide against a wide range of broadleaf weeds. It works by disrupting the cell membranes of weeds, causing rapid drying out, yellowing, and plant death within 1 to 2 days. FMC Galaxy is effective against a wide range of weeds and offers a safe-to-use formula that provides strong clearing for the best results.
Key Features and Benefits of FMC Galaxy:
Quick Action: Galaxy herbicide provides quick weed knockdown within 1 to 2 days of application, ensuring healthy crops.
Effective Weed Resistance: FMC Galaxy herbicide controls difficult broadleaf weeds for the best results.
Resistance Management: This herbicide has a different mode of action from all other herbicides, making it good for resistance management.
No Soil Residue: The FMC Galaxy herbicide has no soil activity, ensuring safety for the growing crops.
Safe to Use: The FMC Galaxy herbicide has selective properties, which makes it safe towards crops while targeting weeds.
Galaxy Herbicide Uses — Target Weeds and Crops:
Galaxy Herbicide Uses cover tough broadleaf weeds in Soybean:
Primary Target Weeds: Commelina benghalensis (Kena / Day Flower), Commelina communis, Acalypha indica (Indian Acalypha / Copper Leaf), Amaranthus viridis (Pigweed / Slender Amaranth), Digera arvensis (False Amaranth)
Also Controls: Other common Soybean broadleaf weeds at the 2–4 leaf stage
Registered Crop: Soybean
Note: For grass weed control, tank-mix FMC Galaxy with a registered grass herbicide to achieve full-spectrum post-emergence weed management
FMC Galaxy Dose — Recommended Dose:
The Galaxy Herbicide Dosage is 50 ml per acre — equivalent to 3–4 ml per 15L pump in 150–200 litres of water per acre, and approximately 0.5 ml per litre of water.
Crop | Target Weeds | Dose Per Acre | Per 15L Pump | Per Litre | Timing | PHI |
Soybean | Broadleaf Weeds | 50 ml | 3–4 ml | 0.5 ml | Post-emergence — 2–4 weed leaf stage (12–15 days after sowing) | 73 days |
How To Use FMC Galaxy Herbicide:
Measure 50 ml of Galaxy herbicide per acre — 3–4 ml per 15L pump — as per the dose table above.
Add the measured quantity to the sprayer tank half-filled with clean water, mix well, and fill to 150–200 litres per acre before spraying.
Add a compatible non-ionic surfactant or spreader to the spray solution to improve leaf wetting, absorption, and burndown speed.
For full grass + broadleaf weed control, add a registered grass herbicide to the same tank — FMC Galaxy controls broadleaf weeds, and the grass herbicide covers grasses simultaneously.
Apply when weeds are actively growing at the 2–4 leaf stage — 12–15 days after sowing is the optimum application window.
Use a flat fan nozzle for uniform broadcast spray coverage across the entire Soybean field.
Apply only on a sunny day — Galaxy herbicide requires sunlight for its PPO-inhibiting mechanism to generate the reactive oxygen species that kill the weed. Do not spray on overcast days or late in the evening when sunlight intensity is insufficient.
Do not spray if rain is expected within 2 hours of application.
Best Time to Apply:
Apply FMC Galaxy in the mid-morning to early afternoon on a clear, sunny day — this is the critical difference from most other herbicides. Galaxy herbicide requires good sunlight for PPO-activated cell membrane destruction — applying on a bright sunny day delivers the fastest and most complete weed burndown, while application on overcast days may give slower or incomplete results.
Frequency of Application and Re-Entry Period:
Frequency of Application: One well-timed post-emergence application of Galaxy herbicide at the 2–4 weed leaf stage is generally sufficient for season-long broadleaf weed control in Soybean. Repeat only if a new broadleaf weed flush establishes after the initial application.
Re-Entry Period: Do not enter treated fields for at least 12 hours after application. Allow the spray to dry fully before field re-entry.
Tank-Mix Compatibility: FMC Galaxy is recommended for tank-mix use with registered grass herbicides for full-spectrum weed control. Always perform a jar compatibility test before mixing. Do not mix with highly alkaline products.
Important Notes:
Apply Galaxy herbicide only on sunny days — sunlight is required for the PPO mechanism to work effectively.
Do not apply when temperatures are below 20°C or above 35°C — extreme temperatures reduce herbicide efficacy.
FMC Galaxy is a contact herbicide — thorough and uniform weed coverage is essential for best results.
Safety Precautions and Handling:
Wear gloves, goggles, and a face mask before handling or spraying FMC Galaxy.
Do not eat, drink, or smoke during mixing or application.
Avoid direct contact with skin and eyes — rinse immediately with clean water for 15 minutes if contact occurs.
Do not allow spray drift onto adjacent non-soybean crops.
Keep Galaxy herbicide away from children, animals, food, and water sources.
Wash all exposed skin thoroughly with soap and water after every spray session.
Triple rinse empty containers, puncture, and dispose of per local waste guidelines.
Storage Instructions:
Store FMC Galaxy in its original sealed container in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat.
Keep away from food, animal feed, and seeds.
Store out of reach of children and farm animals.
Storage Temperature: Below 35°C.
