EBS Safekick is a selective systemic herbicide containing Imazethapyr 10% SL, belonging to the Imidazolinone group. It is specifically used for weed control in major crops like soybeans and groundnuts. EBS Safekick herbicide inhibits protein synthesis in plants and kills them immediately through systemic action. Imazethapyr 10% SL controls both annual grassy weeds and broadleaf weeds with a residual activity. It does not attack crops and keeps them safe with the help of selective action.
Selective Action: EBS Safekick herbicide controls both grassy and broadleaf weeds without harming Soybean and Groundnut crops with selective action.
Systemic Control: Imazethapyr 10% SL is absorbed through leaves and roots and moves through the entire plant, eliminating weeds from their roots.
Broad Spectrum: EBS Safekick herbicide controls annual grassy weeds, broadleaf weeds, and sedges in a single spray.
Long Residual: It provides extended weed protection and reduces the need for repeat sprays, making it cost-effective for the farmers.
Post-Emergence Flexibility: This herbicide can be applied after weeds have emerged, when weeds are at the 2 to 4 leaf stage, 15 to 20 days after sowing.
Annual Grassy Weeds: Echinochloa colonum (Jungle Rice), Digitaria sanguinalis, Eleusine indica
Broadleaf Weeds: Commelina benghalensis, Croton sparsiflorus, Amaranthus viridis, Trianthema monogyna
Sedges: Cyperus compressus, Cyperus difformis, Cyperus rotundus (Nutgrass)
Mix EBS Safekick in 150 to 200 liters of water per acre for foliar spray. Apply as an early post-emergence spray when weeds are at the 2 to 4 leaf stage for best results.
Crop | Target Weeds | Dose / Acre | Per 15L Pump | PHI |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Soybean | Annual Grassy Weeds, Broadleaf Weeds, Sedges | 400 ml | 30–32 ml | 75 days |
Groundnut | Annual Grassy Weeds, Broadleaf Weeds | 400–500 ml | 30–38 ml | 90 days |

Apply Imazethapyr 10% SL in the early morning or late evening when temperatures are cool, and wind speed is low. Apply at 15 to 20 days after sowing when weeds are at the 2 to 4 leaf stage for best absorption and complete weed kill.
Frequency of Application: One well-timed application at the 2 to 4 leaf weed stage is generally sufficient per season. A second application may be needed only if weed regrowth is heavy after 3 to 4 weeks.
Re-Entry Period: Do not enter treated areas for at least 24 hours after application.
Tank-mix Compatibility: Do not mix with other herbicides without a jar test. Do not mix with broadleaf insecticides immediately after application.
Wear full protective gear, including gloves, goggles, and a face mask, before handling.

Controls annual grassy weeds, broadleaf weeds, and sedges in Soybean and Groundnut crops — applied as an early post-emergence spray when weeds are at the 2 to 4 leaf stage.
Do not apply to crops other than Soybean and Groundnut. Avoid rainfall or irrigation for at least 6 hours after application. Do not spray during strong winds to prevent drift onto sensitive crops. Always wear gloves, goggles, and a face mask during mixing and spraying. Keep away from children, pets, and water bodies after application.
Apply 15 to 20 days after sowing when weeds are at the 2 to 4 leaf stage — early application gives the fastest and most complete weed kill and reduces competition with the main crop.
Yes — Imazethapyr 10% SL is selective and safe for Soybean and Groundnut when used at recommended doses and timing. Do not use on other crops as it may cause damage.
Imazethapyr 10% SL has good residual activity in the soil — it continues to suppress fresh weed emergence for several weeks after application, reducing the need for repeat sprays.
