• Traps Oriental Fruit fly (BactroceraDorsalis )which attacks many fruit crops such as avocado, citrus, guava, mango, papaya, passion fruit, etc.
• Reduces the intensity of pest incidence and crop damage, thereby improving yield/output quality.
• Flies enter the trap through the openings in the end caps in response to the pheromone plume that comes out of the lure hung inside the trap.
• Once inside the trap, they remain held by the pheromone attraction and by the light entering through the transparent center cage. When exhausted they fall and die.
• The trap is made of UV stabilized plastic polymer, of three easy-to-assemble interlocking sections, with small openings in the center of the yellow end caps for insects to enter into a transparent cylindrical center cage.
• The end caps are screwed onto the center cage in which provision is made to press fit a lure holder basket, in which the dispenser/lure is kept.
• Dimensions & Color: 14 cm (H) x 10.5 cm (Dia), transparent middle cylinder, yellow end caps. Pheromone Lure is made of woodblock / Porous PP block into which Methyl eugenol is loaded.
• Recommended trap density is 1 to 2 traps for home & kitchen garden, 40-50 traps per hectare for mass trapping, and 8-10 traps per hectare for monitoring. The traps last for multiple seasons in the field.
