Adama Trassid insecticide is an effective pest control remedy that works against whiteflies and thrips. It offers a contact and stomach mode of action that works by blocking the pests’ energy production and causing overstimulation in certain receptors, leading to paralysis and death of the pest. The Adama Trassid insecticide offers a dual mode of action and great resistance management with complete coverage through translaminar activity for the best results.
Key Features and Benefits of Trassid Insecticide:
Effective Working: Adama Trassid insecticide offers a strong formula that has completely different modes of action for effective protection.
Resistance Management: The Trassid insecticide has no cross-resistance to other traditional insecticides, ensuring better pest relief.
Complete Coverage: This insecticide penetrates leaf tissue and reaches within every part of the crop through strong translaminar activity.
Quick Action: This insecticide stops pest feeding within minutes of contact or ingestion, protecting crops from further damage.
Rainfast Properties: The Trassid insecticide has strong rainfast properties as it cannot be washed away easily by the rain after a certain time.
Targeted Application: Trassid insecticide can be used against whiteflies and thrips, providing targeted protection.
Trassid Insecticide Uses — What Does It Control?
Trassid insecticide uses are focused on the two key sucking pest species in Cotton and Chilli:
Whiteflies: Bemisia tabaci (Cotton Whitefly) — both nymphs and adults in Cotton and Chilli
Thrips: Thrips palmi, Scirtothrips dorsalis (Chilli Thrips) — all life stages in Chilli and Cotton
Registered Crops: Cotton and Chilli
Adama Trassid Dose — Recommended Dose:
The Trassid Insecticide dose per litre is 1.6 ml per litre of water — equivalent to 25 ml per 15-litre pump and 250 ml per acre in 150–200 litres of water.
Crop | Target Pest | Dose Per Acre | Per 15L Pump | Per Litre | PHI |
Cotton | Whiteflies, Thrips | 250 ml | 25 ml | 1.6 ml | 21 days |
Chilli | Whiteflies, Thrips | 250 ml | 25 ml | 1.6 ml | 3–7 days |
How To Use Adama Trassid Insecticide:
Measure 1.6 ml of Adama Trassid insecticide per litre of water required for the spray volume.
Add the measured quantity to a sprayer tank half-filled with clean water and mix well before topping up.
Fill with the remaining clean water and agitate to form a uniform suspension before spraying.
Use a hollow cone or flat fan nozzle — ensure spray reaches the underside of leaves and deep into the plant canopy where Thrips and Whitefly nymphs concentrate most densely.
Apply at the first sign of Whitefly or Thrips infestation — early-stage pest control prevents population build-up and reduces the risk of virus transmission through sucking pest vectors.
Spray during late evening or early morning, as Trassid insecticide contains Spinetoram, which is toxic to bees when wet.
Do not spray during active bee foraging hours or near beehives.
Rinse all sprayer equipment thoroughly with clean water after every use.
Best Time to Apply:
Apply Adama Trassid insecticide in the late evening or early morning. For Cotton, apply at the first sign of Whitefly nymph colonies on the underside of leaves. For Chilli, apply at the first sign of Thrips damage — silver streaking on young leaves or distortion of young shoots.
Frequency of Application and Re-Entry Period:
Frequency of Application: Apply at the first sign of pest infestation. The improved rain-fastness and dual-mode residual action of the Trassid insecticide give 10–14 days of effective pest control per application; repeat as needed, up to 2–3 times per season. Always rotate with insecticides from different IRAC groups after 2 consecutive applications.
Re-Entry Period: Do not enter treated fields for at least 24 hours after spraying without proper protective gear.
Tank-Mix Compatibility: Adama Trassid insecticide is compatible with most fungicides and insecticides. Avoid mixing with strongly alkaline products. Always perform a jar test before mixing with unfamiliar inputs.
Safety Precautions and Handling:
Wear gloves, goggles, and a face mask before handling or spraying Trassid insecticide.
Do not eat, drink, or smoke during mixing or application.
Avoid direct contact with skin and eyes — rinse immediately with clean water for 15 minutes if contact occurs.
Toxic to bees — do not spray during active bee foraging hours, near beehives, or on flowering crops.
Toxic to aquatic organisms — do not allow spray drift or runoff into ponds, rivers, or fish farms.
Keep children, pets, and livestock away from treated fields for at least 24 hours.
Wash all exposed skin thoroughly with soap and water after every spray session.
Triple rinse empty containers, puncture, and dispose of per local waste guidelines.
