Adama Takaf is a dual-action insecticide that offers systemic and contact modes of action. It works by inhibiting mitochondrial ATP synthase and disrupting the normal functioning of the pest’s central and peripheral nervous system. Adama Takaf insecticide has a unique formula that has no cross-resistance and offers long-lasting protection, leading to healthy crops for the best yields.
Key Features and Benefits of Takaf Insecticide:
Effective Action: Adama Takaf insecticide targets two different pest biological processes for effective pest relief.
Resistance Management: Adama Takaf has no cross-resistance, making it suitable for pests that have developed resistance to other insecticides.
Quick Action: The Adama Takaf insecticide stops pest feeding almost immediately, leading to healthier crops for better growth.
Prolonged Effects: Adama Takaf provides long-lasting residual control, reducing the need for frequent applications.
Easy to Use: The Adama Takaf insecticide has a Suspension Concentrate (SC), which makes it easy to mix and apply for easy application.
Takaf Insecticide Uses — What Does It Control?
Takaf insecticide uses are focused on the key sucking pest complex in Cotton and Chilli:
Primary Targets: Whiteflies (Bemisia tabaci), Thrips (Scirtothrips dorsalis, Thrips palmi), Aphids, Leafhoppers / Jassids
Additional Pests: Other sucking and chewing pests at the vegetative stage
Registered Crops: Cotton and Chilli
Adama Takaf Dose — Recommended Dose:
The Takaf Insecticide dose is 250 ml per acre — equivalent to 1–1.5 ml per litre of water and approximately 18–22 ml per 15L pump.
Crop | Target Pest | Dose Per Acre | Per 15L Pump | Per Litre | PHI |
Cotton | Thrips, Whiteflies, Aphids, Leafhoppers | 250 ml | 18–22 ml | 1–1.5 ml | 21 days |
Chilli | Thrips, Aphids, Whiteflies | 250 ml | 18–22 ml | 1–1.5 ml | 7 days |
How To Use Adama Takaf Insecticide:
Shake the Adama Takaf bottle well before measuring — the SC formulation settles on standing.
Measure the required dose of Takaf Insecticide as per the crop-wise table above.
Pre-mix in a small amount of clean water in a separate container before adding to the sprayer tank.
Fill the tank with the remaining clean water and agitate thoroughly to form a uniform suspension before spraying.
Use a hollow cone nozzle for thorough coverage — ensure the spray reaches the underside of leaves where Whiteflies, Thrips, and Aphids concentrate most densely.
Apply at the first sign of pest infestation — early application prevents population build-up and virus spread through sucking pest vectors.
Spray during the vegetative stage and at the time of pest incidence — early morning or late evening for best absorption and to avoid bee foraging hours.
Rinse the sprayer thoroughly with clean water after every use.
Best Time to Apply:
Apply Adama Takaf Insecticide in the early morning or late evening during the vegetative stage and at the first signs of pest infestation. For Cotton, apply when Whitefly nymph colonies begin appearing on the underside of young leaves. For Chilli, apply at the first sign of Thrips damage — silver streaking on young leaves or distortion of young shoots.
Frequency of Application and Re-Entry Period:
Frequency of Application: Apply at the first sign of pest infestation. The long residual action of Takaf Insecticide provides 14–21 days of pest control per application — repeat as needed, up to 2–3 times per season. Always rotate with products from different IRAC groups after 2 consecutive applications.
Re-Entry Period: Do not enter treated fields for at least 24 hours after spraying without proper protective gear.
Tank-Mix Compatibility: Adama Takaf is compatible with most fungicides and insecticides. Avoid mixing with strongly alkaline products. Always perform a jar test before mixing with any unfamiliar input.
Safety Precautions and Handling:
Wear gloves, goggles, and a face mask before handling or spraying Takaf Insecticide.
Do not eat, drink, or smoke during mixing or application.
Avoid direct contact with skin and eyes — rinse immediately with clean water for 15 minutes if contact occurs.
Toxic to bees when wet — do not spray during active bee foraging hours, near beehives, or on flowering crops.
Do not allow spray drift near water bodies or fish ponds — Bifenthrin is toxic to aquatic organisms.
Keep children, pets, and livestock away from treated fields for at least 24 hours.
No specific antidote is known — treat symptomatically and seek medical attention if poisoning is suspected.
Wash all exposed skin thoroughly with soap and water after every spray session.
Triple rinse empty containers, puncture, and dispose of per local waste guidelines.
