Beauveria Bassiana a unique biological insecticide, it is a naturally occurring fungus that is found in the soil. B.bassiana is an entomopathogenic fungus that causes a white muscadine disease on a range of sap-sucking insects like whiteflies, aphids, thrips, etc.
B.bassiana spores, on coming in contact with a target pest, rapidly germinate and grows into the inside of the insect through the spiracle present in the cuticle. The fungus then proliferates throughout the insect’s body, producing toxins and draining all of the nutrients that eventually cause the death of the insect. The activity of the fungi is favored by warm & humid weather. Speed of killing depends on the number of spores contacting the insect, the insect’s age, susceptibility, and environmental conditions.
