Radish is also called Diakon belongs to family of "Cruciferae" and its origin is in Mediterranean.
Radish is essentially a cool-season crop. It grows best in the spring and autumn and will tolerate light winter frosts. The high temperatures of summer cause the plant to develop small tops, and roots rapidly become pithy and strongly pungent after reaching maturity.

Grown on all type of soils but give best result when grown on light friable, sandy loam soil. pH range must be 5.5 to 6.8.
Plough land thoroughly and make land weed and clods free. Add well decomposed cow dung of 5-10ton/acre and mix well in soils at time of land preparation

cool days of early spring, but some later-maturing varieties can be planted for summer use.
Use row to row spacing of 45cm and plant to plant spacing of 7.5cm
For good growth, sow seeds at depth of 1.5cm
